Comments: From the Playbill
"One disadvantage of being older than the planets is saying the name
Burt Bacharach and have people have answer back to you 'Burt who?"Burt
wrote more hits than Christ in the Sixties, hits recorded by the likes of
Dionne Warwicke, B.J. Thomas, Dusty Springfield, the Beatles (heard of them?)."
The first show dedicated to one artist was a most satisfying one for Vic, Bacaharach enthusiast from way back. Oddly enough, his fave song "The Look of Love " didn't make it on this one. This is the first show to benefit from the new Semi-Detached recordings, even the cover of My Little Red Book. Still, you can't help wonder if someone in the audience went home thinking Burt wrote "Maniac."
The Burt theme obscured the fact that two
soon-to-be-Vic staples opened the show, the first public airing of the marathon
recording sessions the Semi-Detached laid down prior to bassist Charles
Seeley leaving AZ on August 19th.
