"Nita's has always been a kind lady to me whether I played her club
with the Semi-Detached or by myself. Tonight's a way of giving something
back to Nita and her cowboy clientele. Besides previewing some new originals,
I will be performing songs which appear on Nita's CD jukebox-time tested
favorites that have been known to drive the regulars into a frenzy of drink
and remorse. There could've been a whole set of Freddy Fender favorites
so be thankful for the songs we did wind up with."
In truth only four songs were on the jukebox
at the time, including the Beat Angels song which they recorded at a rehearsal
especially for this show. The God Save the Queen bit was a Vic reanactment
of the recent Princess Di car crash complete with flash bulbs and crushed
metal toy cars.
