"PUNK OFF" NEWS
MAY 23: The vinyl version is here! A limited pressing of 500 on five different colors of vinyl, with hand spray painted covers, have been released.
FEB. 12: About 400-500 of the original CD pressing of 1000 CDs have been sold .... UC-Irvine radio station KUCI had the CD as high as #4 on their playlist, several cuts are getting some solid airplay .... a German release is being discussed for later this year.... the vinyl release, which will contain a bonus track (the old classic Go To The Dentist) should be available within a few weeks.
JAN. 30: Coming soon! The "target" style t-shirts in pink and in blue.
JAN. 11: Collector's editions of PUNK OFF will soon be available in colored wax - 500 copies will be pressed, in sets of 100 with different colors.
JAN. 4: Read the OC Weekly's review of the CD.
JAN. 3: PUNK OFF t-shirts and buttons are coming soon, as well as the first CROWD stickers and buttons in a generation. Have a look at the cool new merch on the PUNK OFF page. Fans of The Jam should recognize the button style, although it's never looked better than it does in day-glo.
DEC. 21 '01: The new CD continues to sell well in local record stores like Vinyl Solution and Bionics - the real test will come when national distribution is complete.
MORE CROWD NOISE ON LOCAL RADIO
JUNE 11: Tune into 94.3 FM on Sunday nights from 8-12pm and you just may hear The Crowd on the air. The band recorded some live material last month for the new Go Loco local music show on "Orange County’s Independent Radio Station" KMXN-FM (hosted by DJ Tazy Phillips.) The Crowd also recorded the theme song that's been leading off the show lately.
COMING SOON: "I'M NOT HAPPY HERE" VIDEO
JUNE 11: Featuring 16mm footage from the recent Key Club show as well as some shots of the band playing in a local garage, this new video has been submitted to MTV's "120 Minutes" show - stand by more updates.

CROWD GET SOME GREAT SOUND BITES ON VH-1 SPECIAL
MAR. 26: Jim Decker and Jim Kaa got some serious face time on VH-1's latest special focusing on Orange County's influence in contemporary pop culture. The show (titled Orange County: American Hip Factory) highlighted several well known OC bands, including the Adolescents, Agent Orange, Social Distortion and TSOL and some of the more commercially successful groups. It aired on March 25th and April 12. "Modern Machine" and "Right Time" were heard in the background on more than one occasion.

MAR. 25: The Crowd appeared live on
KUCI (88.9 FM, Irvine, CA) from 2-4 pm PST on Saturday, March 30th (the Armenian Ardem show.) Pictures coming soon.

CROWD COULD BE FEATURED ON NEW HOSTAGE COMP
FEB. 1:
The Crowd may be appearing on volume 2 of Hostage Records' new "Cuts" CD series & documentary (featuring rare tracks from bands such as Smogtown, Bonecrusher, Discontent, the Decline, the Numbers, the Negatives etc.) A 12 page booklet with interviews and Rick Bain's photos may be included. (Update from Third Generation Nation.)
ANOTHER MAGAZINE COVER
JAN. 11: Premier German punk zine Third Generation Nation will feature a cover story and interview of The Crowd in their March 2002 issue. The meaning of each song on "Punk Off" will be discussed in detail. Check back for a copy of the interveiw right here, once it's available.
