Echocentral news on the Fan Forum - sounds like Joey and another ubergeek named Geoph are giving the official site a major tech upgrade. According to Joey, one aspect of this will allow him to post news updates quickly using plain text that gets converted behind the scenes to HTML, which will in theory increase the frequency of said updates. Of course you can always get your news fix here as well.

Joey defends Napster! Web site Christianmusic.com hosted a "debate" on Napster, with Joey giving the pro position and a manager in the Christian music industry named David L. Bahnsen giving the con. Check out the link, and then head to the Fan Forum for a spirited discussion of the issue. |

For those curious about what goes on "behind the music" with The Echoing Green, Joey B. has posted in the Fan Forum an extremely interesting glimpse of why the album Hope Springs Eternal was once called Atmospheric. The new version of "Goodbye" is up at MP3.com. This is similar to the original mix, but with slightly tweaked vocals. Go download it and compare (and while you're at it, give the Dreamtraveler remix of "Liberation" another download and try to get it back on the first page of the MP3.com Melodic Trance chart ).

Christian music site and longtime Echoing Green supporter Flaming Fish has some of the very out-of-print first EG album Defend Your Joy. If you don't already own this classic, you are strongly advised to buy it now, as it has become very difficult to find. |

The first track for the new Evergreen Collection has been selected! Fans lobbying in the Forum for the song "Believe" got a boost from Joey today when he announced that he would include "Believe" on The Evergreen Collection. The top ten vote-getting songs from the recent poll will soon be announced as well. |
