The Collaboration Element

The Collaboration Element was a progressive instrumental rock band styled after Dream Theater, Dixie Dregs, Rush and others. We have discontinued as a band, but we put out a great cd entitled, "The Science of Music." Visit the website to listen to excerpts of the music and to learn more about the band.

Dream Theater

This is an excerpt of Jason McIntosh (Co-collaborator in the Collaboration Element) and me playing some Dream Theater. This is a crude recording with only guitar and drums recorded straight to a sound console (I wish the drums were louder) but it shows what we can do.

Samples of me playing the Mesa Boogie Subway Rocket Reverb

I have since sold my Mesa Boogie Subway Rocket Reverb, but this is what the amp sounded like. I played dry (no effects). Running through my pedalboard and THD Hotplate, the amp was set on 2.5 and the attenuation at 8 db, mic'ed the amp with a Shure SM-57. All notes were improvised.

I heard a little annoying hiss on these recordings. If you hear it, this is not the amp but the soundcard. My mic input doesn't work so I had to line input these recordings.
