August 2000

I just returned home from Foghat's 5th gig in Ridgecrest CA. It was a great show in the desert and a beautiful night for playing. As the sun set the temperature cooled off and a nice breeze started to blow making it a beautiful night for playing. Many thanks to a great crowd and all the hard working people behind the scenes.

July 2000

If you are reading this note then you probably know that for the last 10 years I have been closely associated with 2 fine bands "Foghat" and "Molly Hatchet". In the late '80's and early '90's I toured with "Lonesome Dave's Foghat" and upon their decision to reform "Foghat" with the original lineup I joined and began a wonderful 8 year association with "Molly Hatchet". With "Hatchet" I toured the US and abroad and recorded 2 great albums. In August of '99 my dear friend "Lonesome Dave" asked me to go on tour with him once again, tragically this was to be his last tour. To have had this special time with my friend means a great deal to me and I will always remember it. In February of 2000 Bobby was taking "Molly Hatchet" into preproduction for a new album due for release this summer. Bobby graciously asked me to rejoin "Molly Hatchet" for the new album and tour to follow. This offer I accepted gladly and it meant quite alot to my family and I.. Foghat's touring being suspended and I in need of a gig. We left once again for Germany and recorded what I think is the best of the three albums I have recorded with Molly Hatchet. Bobby's production and songwriting were superb and the special guitar chemistry that we have together made recording a joy. In June while on tour with Molly Hatchet I was asked to resume touring with Foghat. So I was faced with one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make in all my years of touring. Both bands offered me exciting and challenging work...so what to do. As many of you may know I am a family man with 2 small children, so in the end I based my decision largely on my responsibilities at home and my desire to be at home more with my children.

At this point I want to give a major thankyou to Bobby Ingram for being so understanding of my decision and for being such a gentleman when I left him in the difficult position of adding a new guitarist at the beginning of a long and important tour, and to my brothers in the band for understanding. On the Foghat side I would like to thank Mike McConnell for all his help in organizing the logistics of my return to the band. Music is a long and winding road and I hope to remain connected musically and personally to all the great musicians I have had the honor of working with over the years while still being the man I need to be at home. Thanks for reading !

April 2000

As I write this I'm sitting in the lounge at Karo Studios, Brackel, Germany, where Molly Hatchet is in production for their new release. Check back here or at the Molly Hatchet website for all the new developments!

March 2000

As of April 1 (and a few dates in Feb. and Mar.) I will be back on tour with "Molly Hatchet"! We go into pre-production February for a new album to be recorded in Germany!

March 2000

I'll be doing some concert dates in the Central Florida area with two of my good friends. First I'll be holding down the bottom (playing bass) with Stephen Dees's band the Bandees and then I'll be rocking out on some blues guitar with Mark Hodgson. Stephen and I played together in several bands including Foghat. He was the bassist with Novo Combo and Hall and Oates before forming his own band. He is a multi talented singer / songwriter and produced these two fine albums (look below).

Big Day

Daytona Bike Week will be a ball! As I mentioned above I'll be playing with Blues Harmonica virtuoso Mark Hodgson. We'll be performing his newest album as well as many Blues classics. (see my Tour Dates Page for venue info)

Extreme Blues

silent reign of heroes cover
Though not exactly new, this 1998 release is "Hatchet's" newest CD! We went to Hamburg Germany once again where we spent 5 weeks in Jan./Feb. '98 recording at Karo Studios. Released June '98, on CMC International ,it's titled "The Silent Reign of Heroes"! Check out the Molly Hatchet Website for more information.

"Devil's Canyon" was recorded in late '96 for CBH/SPV Records in Europe, Mayhem Records in the US and AVEX Records in Japan. We've completed the "Devil's Canyon" world tour which took us from Florida to Sweden and San Diego to New England.
