Fave TSD songs:  I'm A Believer, Walking Dead, Countrymen, Opportune Moment
How I Heard About TSD/Live TSD Experiences: Saw them for the first time Fall of 2000 at Axis...I had never even heard a note from them before...they are a favorite of my boyfriend and his friends, so I tagged along. They knocked my socks off...went out and ordered New Parade the very next day and have been addicted since. Saw them again at Les Zygomates, and in November at The Paradise, but have missed two shows that my boyfriend and his friends went to because of stupid other commitments...damnit! Will be seeing them at The Green room on 2/17 and at The Paradise at the end of March...can't wait for the new CD!!!
Other favorite bands: Dave Matthews Band, Buffalo Tom, Pat McGee Band, Howie Day, John Mayer, David Gray, Rockwell Church, Weezer, Pearl Jam, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Toad The Wet Sprocket (RIP)...
Cool Fact: At the Les Zygomates show, Jim touched and told me he liked my mittens...I haven't washed them since :) :)

3 Fave TSD songs:  1. Hum.  This is the first TSD song I heard (on KWOD 106.5, a local station), and it just goes with my every mood. It rocks and there's nothing more to it (any song that makes you feel like you can go out and kick everyone's ass is a great song). I know some think it's not the best song on the CD, but I don't care. It's always gonna be my fave.  2. Opportune Moment.  Everyone's been in that situation, you can't deny it.  3. Like A Criminal.   I love it, I don't know why yet. It gives me a good feeling, I guess.
How I Heard About TSD:  a month or so ago, KWOD radio played Hum and it was instantly stuck in my head.  It took me a few days to find out who actually sang it, but as soon as I did I found myself at the TSD page and I joined the list.  I have yet to see TSD live, but I HOPE I DO because the band is awesome.
Live TSD Concert Experience:  Well, if they ever make their way to the west coast I will be there.
Anything Else?  I can't wait to see The Sheila Divine live.   I'm spreading the word about TSD here, doing my part. ;)

3 Fave TSD songs:  Spacemilk, I'm A Believer, Walking Dead (Who Speak)
How I Heard About TSD: Saw them open for someone in summer or fall of '97.  Saw them a few times after that opening for others, and finally started to go to shows simply because they were the openers.
Live TSD Concert Experience: First time seeing them was strange.  seeing this fellow belting out melodic tunes at what seemed to be the top of his lungs...i couldn't imagine a tour doing that night after night.  poor fellow. ;) the first night of the wbcn rumble was memorable as well, with mr. gilbert posturing at the dudes trying to louse up his bass lines, and the melee during the final song (shilo's outburst, and the backup singers).
what a cool band.

3 Fave TSD songs:  1. Opportune Moment 2. Modern Log 3. Automatic Buffalo
How I Heard About TSD: SO there I was, partying it up at my sister's wedding in Buffalo. One of my Dad's close friends from yesteryear came up to me and struck up some conversation. He asked how I was and what I was up to and I in turn asked him the same. Specifically, I asked him how his sons Aaron and Adam were doing and he told me about Aaron dropping out of school to be in a band in Boston. At first, I didn't give it much thought because Aaron was into some weird music in high school (i think he was in some kind of hard, screaming band in high school). Anyhow, he told me the name of the band and we went on to another subject. Later that weekend, I heard "Hum" on the radio and I about jumped out of the car when I heard it was Aaron's band. So, I bought the CD and now I can't stop listening to it (I've had it since October).
Live TSD Concert Experience: In March I brought four of my luckiest friends to see them in Columbus. They weren't that big of fans before, but after the concert they were newly converted sheilas.

Why "the Other"? :
Jim Gilbert is *the* Jim. I'm just another guy with the name. :)
3 Fave TSD songs:  hard, hard question. Ask me on any given day and I could give you different answers. For now, I'll say "Modern Log","Spacemilk" and "Walking Dead."
First TSD Experience: Tower Records in-store in Harvard Square, August 1999. I went after work and stood directly in front of them as they played, not knowing how incredibly loud they were going to be. I was completely blown away - literally and figuratively. I've since seen them as many times as possible, and would see them even more if I had my own car.
Other Favorite Bands: Morphine, Buffalo Tom, REM, the Black Crowes, Foo Fighters, Sloan, Radiohead, Urge Overkill, the Replacements, Nirvana
"Personal ad" info: non-smoking 5-foot-8 SWM music/film snob into live concerts, quirky movies, Chuck T's with jeans/shorts and a t-shirt whenever possible, special edition DVDs, learning guitar and HTML, James Ellroy novels, the Simpsons, the Boston Red Sox, and using more words than necessary to get the point across.

3 fave TSD songs: #1 Automatic Buffalo...the 1st song I heard and I've liked it best from the get go...Aarons screeching "Automatic Buffalo" at the end of the song puts me in that moment everytime I hear it! #2 Opportune Moment...love the structure of the lyrics in this one... #3 is a tie between Modern Log & The Amendment which if I was forced I'd give the nod to the latter.
How I heard about TSD: found out about TSD through Frozen Lake (Buffalo Toms list), probably from R.F. Jimmy, saw the CD available at BEST BUY one day... borrowed the money from the friend I was with.. played it in his cd player on the way home and have not stopped listening to it and turning on new listeners every chance I get!!!
Live TSD Concert Experience: Tues. Nov.23rd [1999] in NJ...Great night from start to finish...got to meet the guys...great guys...only regret is the night had to end!
Hobbies: music, sports, and having agood time

3 fave TSD songs: Like A Criminal, I'm A Believer, Automatic Buffalo
How I heard about TSD: After much deliberation---and many joke band-name suggestions from my (now-ex) husband (such as "Reese's Feces")---I learned that the guys had decided to call themselves Sheila Divine (they added "The" sometime after the demo tape was put together).
Live TSD Concert Experience: My first live show was sometime in '97 (sorry, guys, I can't remember the date) upstairs at the Middle East. I was, needless to say, blown away with their awesome stage presence, great musicianship, and Aaron's excellent songwriting---but still disbelieving my eyes and ears. I became conscious exactly HOW great they were the second time I saw them (again, upstairs at the Middle East, I dunno, Jan or Feb of '98?) when I couldn't help but shut my eyes and soak in the music. Until then, they had been "my little brother's band" (with sort of half-snicker from an obnoxious sibling). Never since have I even "thought" a disparaging word.

How I heard about TSD: How else;>? Through listowner Mars.
Live TSD Concert Experience: Ain't had one yet, dammit! But that WILL change, even if I have to hitch to the next gig;>
Anything Else?  I've always considered myself a live gal, as well as a connoisseur of great music. Haven't had the fortune to see our Sheilas live yet, but we shall. I find I'm a Brit music fan (through family) and so, I love Pulp, Suede, Charlatans, Prodigy, Tricky, Super Furries, Bernard Butler, the list goes on....Odds are, if you have been to a gig here in NY, you've seen me there: 5 ft 2 Black gal with Brown eyes and short Black hair. There aren't many of us there;> I'm an easygoing sort, at least I hope so.

3 fave TSD songs: Automatic Buffalo, Hum, Like a Criminal
How I heard about TSD: They were opening for Superdrag in DC, so a group of about 18 of us went. I must admit that we weren't expecting much. My friend called them "The Chess Club" due to the glasses as they took the stage. Then Automatic Buffalo came blasting out, and we were all blown away. After the show everyone was in agreement about the group, and we immediately purchased the CD from Mr. Gilbert.
Live TSD Concert Experience: Just like above, but as an addendum, we drove to Baltimore the very next night to see them again!
Anything Else? I just started learning Flash, but if anyone wants something in Flash for their website, feel free to write me, and I will accomodate. At this point, I just need stuff to do so I can learn.

3 fave TSD songs: Having been listening to the album nearly everyday for the past month or so, I've altered my favorites to Like A Criminal, I'm A Believer, and The Modern Log, though this will probably change yet again...
How I heard about TSD: Over at Not_Alone, a Bernard Butler list, there was some discussion of TSD because they opened for the Manics on their US tour.  I saw the Manics in Detroit but there was a different opening band.  I lamented the fact that I missed out on an apparently great band.  Mars (co-owner of this TSD list) encouraged me to check them out and also the list.  Joined the list without having heard a note of their music...I was captivated merely by all I'd heard and read up to that point!  Finally got a copy of the album (Thanks Mars!) and am completely hooked now. :-)
Live TSD Concert Experience: Unfortunately haven't had the good fortune to see them but would certainly like to soon - come on over to Kalamazoo anytime!! :-)
