All tapes are VHS, North American format, 120 minutes @ SP speed, unless
indicated.
Unfortunately, I don't know the generation of most of these tapes.
If you have any questions about quality, just ask.

about Out of Time, and plays a solo acoustic version of Rockville (which
he screws up)
*Zeche, Bochum, Germany, Oct. 2 1985: Multicamera television

Tape #3 (R.E.M.)

*as Bingo Hand Job at the Borderline, London, March 15 1991:
Clear but somewhat shaky handheld shot from just above head level at the

of a historic show. Features all 4 sets from R.E.M. but is missing the
encores of Get Up and Moon River. Includes a song from the Chickasaw Mud
Puppies (featuring Michael Stipe) and all of Billy Bragg's set, but only
has half of Robyn Hitchcock's set, and none of Peter Holsapple's. Setlist
Tape #6 (R.E.M., Michael Stipe)

television brodcast for TNN of the first four songs of the show. These

filmed from the back of the hall. There are small cuts between each song
as the camera is moved.

Stand (Michael does the Stand dance), gets interviewed, and then is playing
Get Up as the show ends.

broadcast of the first three songs: I Took Your Name, What's the Frequency

from future Beastie Boy Ad-Rock!
Tape #12 (R.E.M.)
*Orpheum, Vienna, Nov. 6 1999: Multicamera television broadcast

Tape #14 (R.E.M.)
*Earl's Court Arena, London, June 22 1999: Steady handheld shot

is interviewed
*Charlie Rose Show, Dec. 21 1999: The
whole band is interviewed
*Tibetan Freedom Concert, Washington DC, June
14 1998: Two versions: the first is from the upper right side, a steady
handheld shot if not always a crisp one. The second version edits that
shot together with another from the same location, so that one camera is
zooming in while the other has a long shot. NOTE: This part of the tape
is in SLP mode. Setlist
Tape #18 (The Tragically Hip)
*Misty Moon, Halifax, April 6 1990: Multicamera television broadcast.
Heavy on shots of the audience. Great show! Setlist
*Nachtwerk, Munich, Germany, Feb. 8 1993: Multicamera television
broacast. In contrast with the huge amounts of hair flying around onstage
in Halifax, everyone looks really clean-cut here, especially Gordon D.
and Johnny.
Setlist
*Pink Pop Festival, Netherlands, June 5 1995: Multicamera television
broadcast, though lower quality than the previous two. Only catches the
end of the set. Setlist

handheld shot from the back of the arena. Setlist

ignores band members not named Gordon Downie. Setlist

broadcast. Includes Dan Aykroyd's intro, Grace Too, Nautical Disaster,

*NxNE Festival, Concert Hall, Toronto, June 9 1997: Steady,
sometimes obstructed handheld shot from the front row of the balcony. Incredible
closeups, close enough to see the sweat dripping of Gord's forehead. Not
much of the other band members, though. Setlist
Tape #25 (The Tragically Hip)
*Centennial Hall, London, Ontario, July 7 1998: Multicamera
television broadcast, shown on MuchMusic as "Something on the Tragically
Hip". Includes clips from earlier shows and interviews with fans lined
up for tickets. (Master copy).
Setlist
Tape #26 (The Tragically Hip/Guster)
*Woodstock Festival, Rome, NY, July 24 1999: Multicamera television
broadcast, which I accidentally recorded in SLP mode. Unfortunately, there
are fewer shots of the band performing then there are of topless women
at the body-painting booth. Which is probably nothing to compain about,
except that the audio feed often departs from the band in favor of the
crowd as well. Guster's set followed the Hip's. (1st generation). Setlist:
Grace, Too . Fully Completely . Fireworks . Gift Shop . Springtime
in Vienna . Bobcaygeon . Nautical Disaster . Poets . Courage . Ahead by
a Century . New Orleans is Sinking . Fire in the Hole . [Guster] Barrel
of a Gun . I Spy . Airport Song . What You Wish For . Happier . Great Escape

*Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Dec. 31 1999: Multicamera television
broadcast of Poets and Save the Planet. In between, Peter Mansbridge talks
about playing golf with Gord Downie in a thunderstorm, but goes on to ruin
his credibility by calling Save the Planet "What's to Become of Us?" (Master
copy)
