12/31/01: Restart
Well today marks the
final day of the year. For those of you who set your new year's
resolutions last year, you have another 14 hours and 20 minutes to complete
them. So get crackin'! Anyhow, I always enjoy the new years
festivities. We hang out at my dad's house, play some sort of family game
(i.e. cards, scrabble, or risk), then make TONS of noise when the new
year finally rolls around. Here's the Christastic question of the day:
What does the new year mean to you? To me, it means a chance to start all
over, especially in school. Heaven knows I could use a fresh grading
sheet. It also represents the end of yet another chapter in time, one in
which we can look back and see a lot of tragedy. The chaos that occurred
on September 11th is a good example. That day will forever remain in our
minds. It will be just like when people ask our parents where they were
when JFK was killed. Same thing.
Laser tag was back to action last night, for what could very
well be the last time. With players dwindling due to a lot of them all
being off in college now, it's just hard to field a decent squad. We'll
see how things turn out in a couple weeks. Thanks to all who joined us
though.
Did I fail to mention that I am the proud owner of an X-Box?
That's right, as of Friday, I have a shiny new X-Box, the pinnacle of video
gaming. This thing is sweet, and it can play DVDs too. Dan and I
have talked about linking both our X-box's together and have a massive 8 person
Halo game. It's possible! All because of X-box. Can you
believe that it took us over 3 weeks to finally get one? And in the end,
it wasn't really that hard to find it. You can just run over to
www.amazon.com and order yours now!
Also, if you're looking for just the console itself, it's available, in great
quantities, at Toys R Us.
Finally, in CATWF news, the
first ever pay-per-view event will begin tonight, new year's eve. Head on
over to the site to see it!
