Earl Preston - vocals (born George Spruce) Lance Railton - lead guitar (died 24th December 1989) Cy Tucker - guitar/vocals Wally Shepherd - bass guitar Ritchie Galvin - drums (born Richard Hughes 28th December 1943, Liverpool, died 13th July 2001) Earl Preston began his career in 1960 singing under the name Gene Day in an early Liverpool group - Gene Day & The Jangobeats. This short-lived outfit regularly played at some of the cities best-known venues, such as the Casbah and the Cavern. In the late summer of '61 Day, now calling himself Earl Preston, took over from Faron Chambers as the lead singer with The Tempest Tornadoes. They shortened the name to The TT's so that it would fit on one line in advertisements, and soon built up a strong local following. During the summer of 1962 they toured US airbases in France. Back from France, they were signed by Fontana Records early in 1963, along with The Merseybeats and Wayne Fontana. Throughout '63 the band gigged extensively, but only recorded one single before breaking up at the end of the year. In February 1964 Preston put a new group together, Earl Preston's Realms. This band lasted for three years.
