Carl Wayne - bass guitar

Dave Hollis - drums

This group were part of the Birmingham contingent and formed in 1963. Powell possessed a strong, mature, soul-influenced voice. A confident performer, Powell quit the group in '64 for a solo career and Carl Wayne assumed the mantle of leader and singer. Chris Kefford came in on bass guitar and the band were re-named Carl Wayne & The Vikings.

Drummer Bev Bevan joined from Denny & The Diplomats in 1965 and the seeds were sown which would eventually blossom into The Move and later, the Electric Light Orchestra.
