Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan

Known mostly for his incredible stunts, however, that's not why I've put him among my faves. His newer films don't attract me much but if you've seen movies like "Drunken Master" you know why he's here. I was introduced to him about ten years ago (I was intoduced to Bruce Lee at the same time too) with "Drunken Master" and another film, and I just loved him; the scene where he's filling the bowl with water vertically and the scene where he gets beaten up by the amazingly nimble woman stayed with me til' I saw the movie again this year. Jackie has done some of the greatest old school movies ever and is an amazing kung fu actor that has charisma, martial art skills, acting skills and handles comedy like nobody.
He started to train at the Peking Opera School at the age of six with stars like Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Yuen Kwai etc. and learned singing, acting and various martial arts. Soon he became one of the "7 Little Fortunes" troupe which all were among the best of Yu Jim Yuen students.
Started as a stuntman in movies like "Fist of Fury" and "Enter the Dragon" alongside Bruce Lee. In 1977 producer Ng See Yuen approached him and casted him in the classic "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow" which made him an overnight star. With this and "Drunken Master" he established a new genre, comedy kung fu. Then came his first directing effort "Fearless Hyena" which was a great hit too. He also choreographed some movies including "36 Crazy Fists". With the ass-kicking kung fu skills he possesses I'm dissapointed with todays modern-fighting Jackie Chan. As an old school star he was one of the best!
