Political - I am a Democrat. I believe that "trickle-down economics" was a terribly flawed theory on the part of Reagan. I am a socially liberal, but am a slight fiscal conservative. To put it simply: I don't mind spending money, but I don't want it wasted either. I believe that people should have affordable and good health care, as well as education. Furthermore, I feel that while using the government to do this may not be perfect, they will ultimately do a better job than any private enterprise. In business, the bottom line rules. That's when people start getting dealt a raw deal, and their health care is nothing.
Religion - I was raised as a Lutheran/Christian boy. However, I have not conformed to what my parents would have necessarily liked...I became an Atheist. I do not believe in God whatsoever. Here's a picture of the President of American Athiests, Ellen Johnson.
Capital Punishment - I believe that Hammurabi was a very smart man in this sense. I firmly believe in the idea of "an eye for an eye", in a certain sense. While I don't think we should cut off a person's arm if they steal, I strongly believe that if you kill another human being you should die. There is one exception, as I also believe it is a person's right to defend their person, family, or even property. Finally, I'll just say that there are people who can be rehabilitated and we should do our best to do so.
Homosexuality - I firmly believe that after some time, science will find that it's provable that homosexuality is NOT a choice! Whether it be a chemical imbalance at birth or something that causes people to be attracted to others of the same sex, I do not know. However, this is America and we are supposed to be embracing diversity. Just because someone is different doesn't mean we can excommunicate them.
Abortion - Since I believe in capital punishment I feel it would be inconsistent to be against abortion. Furthermore, since I consider myself a brimming feminist, I believe in the right of a person to do with their body what they want to. Should I be able to tell you to slice your left pinky off? I didn't think so.
