Transcript of Chat With Lisa

In SOW's mail call section

"While the majority of Jax fans don't want him paired with another woman anytime soon, one reader likes him with V. 'Lisa Cerasoli (V.) has been fantasic as Jax's one true friend. Jax and V. have supercouple potential -- something I never would have predicted even a few weeks ago."

Later in the magazine:

"Some of the most memorable moments of Jax and Brenda's romance were in Malibu, so it was fitting that it was in Malibu that Jax finally bared his grief at her death. Ingo Rademacher quietly allowed Jax's pain to surface and spill, the anguish of his loss accentuated by truth and simplicity of his performance. With the arrival of V. -- his de facto soul mate -- Jax's vulnerability won the battle over his sense of duty. The sight of Jax weeping in
V.'s arms delienated not only his love for Brenda but the singular bond of friendship Jax and V. share."

SOM, in their Remote Control section

It's a Bird... it's a Plane... it's V! on GH

"V's character has been underrated since day one. She's been taken for granted, waiting in the wings for Jax, ready to jump whenever he calls. But recently, Jax took a different tone with V. When Jax fled to Malibu to grieve Brenda's loss and sulk over his family's mob ties, V literally flew in with a shoulder to cry on. V is the only one who didn't abandon Jax and even convinced him to return to Port Charles and deal with his hurt at home. In an
uncharacteristic spate of gratitude, Jax couldn't stop raving to V about her loyal friendship, and boy it's about time. For once, V is being treated as the substantial human being and heroine she is.

Nov. Sweeps Preview

Jax (Ingo Rademacher), V (Lisa Cerasoli), Ned (Wally Kurth) and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) set off for a great adventure in Monte Carlo. From the Latest "Soaps In Depth"

"Moved to tears"
There's nothing like a tragic storyline to bring out an actor's best work.
Take it from Lisa Cerasoli (V), whoe character was called on to comfort
Jax after Brenda's death. Even though Cerasoli is used to playing V. as a
somewhat comic character, bringing on the tears turned out to be easy.
"Because I've worked so much with Ingo Rademacher (Jax) over the past
year, and his sister, Ann, is one of my best friends, and I know their
parents really well, it wasn't that hard for me to be sad for him" she
reveals. "If I could think about something tragic happening to Ingo,
instead of to the character of Jax, it could get me there." This
particular acting method has worked well for Cerasoli in other situations
too. "When I do love scenes," she tells us, "I think about a former
boyfriend." Hmm.

Next to the Photo: "Lisa Cerasoli's acting technique: 'When I work with Ingo, I
really just think about him, then turn that into Jax and V.' "

With the help of Ned and Alexis and a "made-over"
V, Jax attempts to recoup his fortune via highstakes
gambling in Monte Carlo. "It's a return to the old Jax--
imagine him as sort of a riverboat maverick," suggests
Guza. "Monte Carlo will be an adventure with lots of
comedic overtones for Jax and V. It'll be like if Lucille Ball
threw in with James Bond on a caper!" And despire V's
crush on Jax, viewers shouldn't expect their friendship
to get more serious. "She certainly has feelings for him from
a long time ago," Guza continues. "But it's not a romance
in that regard. It's more of a yearning thing now. Jax is still
very much in the sway of Brenda, and V knows it."

11/3/98 Jax and V have a difficult time acting intimate.

11/3/98 V is impressed by Ned's musical talents, and becomes
nervous about her upcoming masquerade with Jax.

Still mourning Brenda's death this week, Jax is brought down even more by
the consequences of his family's illegal money laundering scheme. The feds
offer him a choice. Testify against his parents and his brother Jerry, and
they'll let him keep some of his money. Jax and his parents argue about
the whole situation and Jax, being the sweet guy that he is, does the
noble thing and protects his family, as they had always done for him. He
ultimately pleads guilty to the crime he didn't commit.

Although V manages to talk Jax into returning to Port Charles, and pretty
much acts as his assistant and sorta as a grief counselor, he doesn't
confide in her, or anyone else about his legal problems. "Nobody knows his
plan," Guza says. Once he comes to a decision, "He does tell Alexis, who
is representing him. He shocks her by saying, 'Here's what we're going to
do,' And then we don't hear it. The feds come back in and sit down, and
Jax says, 'Here's what I am offering you. I'm not accepting your deal.
Here's what I'm giving you.' " After Jax pleads guilty, all his money is
frozen. Not only does he give up everything, but he makes himself look bad
in order to protect his family. The Jacks' don't realize they're off the
hook until all the loose ends are tied up. "Before he makes his decision,
his dad comes to him and says, 'Don't be a fool. Just let us go. This is
what we wanted all along. We're trying to protect you. Just let it ride.'
" His mother though, tells Jax in private that John would end up dying in
jail and Jerry would keep running until he ends up getting killed. Jax
doesn't have to go to jail, but the fine will deplete everything owns.
Katherine offers to take his ELQ stocks off his hands, but once his
assests are frozen, he can't do it. He does manage to get the feds to let
his parents keep their home in Alaska. That's about the last thing he ever
does for them. "Essentially, Jax cuts his ties with them," Guza says. "He
says to them, 'You lied to them, you betrayed me. I've done this for you,
now be gone with you.' It's a wicked emotional thing for him and Jax is
left with nothing.

However, don't cry for Jax as he won't be sitting around feeling sorry for
himself. "He loves the challenge, the idea of starting from scratch," Guza
says. "That's what we're getting back to: the Jax who loves the game." **
"Fix me now, I wish you would... bring me back to life. Kiss me blind
somebody should... from hollow into light." -- Garbage
