More pictures - medium size: 3 - 4 - 22 I am hoping that you will still
respond to new messages from new people as I imagine that you are flooded with
mail.
Well I will persist because I am curious, I study at the University of
Technology, Sydney and have an interest in design, (I almost ended up in
Rovanemi, Finland studying but instead ended up studying for 1 year in Hannover,
Germany, and I have only been back in sydney for a few months now) The two
things that I didnt get to do that I regret is learning German and not visiting
any scandinavian countries while I was still in Europe, even if I managed to get
to quite a few other places while still studying, but I know that I will
definately visit at some point in my life (..a strange certainty in my life).
Besides I really want to visit Santa Claus.
So yeah, I am a student, I work part time as a barman in a pub in a not so good
part of Sydney, which can make working there interesting. I say interesting
because its neither "good" interesting or "bad" interesting, it can be both,
people can be amusing and inspiring while someone else can really depress you
without trying deliberately to do so, just their actions in general. Ahh well at
least I have the old regulars, its a strange kind of friendship that you build
up in a bar by reguarly serving people but all in all its pretty rancho relaxo.
I really dont want this to end up as a list of what I Like and DONT Like so I
am just going to try and type and hope that it tells a little about me. I'm bit
of a techno junkie, I think that old original Atari games are epic beyond just
good, (my favourite is Frogger, where you are a frog that has to cross the road
and avoid cars, I would like to think that I would get on well with the people
who suggested this concept, what a brilliant way to think) and theres nothing
quite like coming home early in the morning after clubbing with friends to sit
down and chill out and wind down by playing some incredibly primitive computer
game. I also think that Lego is too good for children, but thats probably the
industrial design side of me coming out. (...ok so by now you think I'm some
freak...)
So yeah techno junkie, well techno music, not quite, I guess it comes down
to how you define it, i think it should only have a high BPM if its going
somewhere otherwise unless your drug fucked its just too repititive. But I do
really like electronic music, as in the experiement in sound created by people
using Moog keyboard synthesisers and the like, but I also like some house and
general club music is fine for clubbing. My music collection is everywhere from
Grace Jones, Johnny Cash, RUN DMC, Kraftwerk, Kruder und Dorfmeister (and that
whole scene, like Mouse on Mars), hey I also really like Fetes Brot,
Fantastiches Vier, Morcheba,Funf Stern Deluxe and Thomas.D. and australian
groups, especially Clan Analog (hey they have a web page you could check out,
just search for Clan Analog Australia or Sub Base Snarl) i"m also into the
Verve, Massive Attack and more FM radio kinda stuff as well. I am also
interested in new media art and really enjoy large art installations be they
static or visual. Hey if its good, its good. I dont like being tagged as one
particular thing or another, I'm not always what I wear or listen to and more
often than not I have too many interests.
Hey having said that you might think that i am heavily into electronic
music only, well i am not. My record collection also has plenty of Funk ala
Isaac Hayes and soul from Roberta Flack, James Brown and ,"I cant get enough of
Barry White...Ohhh yeeeeeeaaaaaaaah!". SOLID GOLD! I also just bought an old
Ukelele and hope to learn how to play it...sure thing.
I really enjoy going out and having the occasional BIG night out, but prefer
it much more in summer when you can go straight from a club to the beach to have
a therapuetic swim to releive your back from dancing too long. So yeah i like
being around people who i know are going to enjoy themselves and dont mind it
when people get slightly rowdy.... (like you can be a "little" rowdy)
Well its getting a bit long, so what would I do if I could continue
just one moment, well it would be summer here in Sydney and i would go to my
favourite beach, Freshwater (one up from Manly as my next best beach), and
having spent the day in the surf I would be eating a mango up on the rocks
looking over the breakers and really enjoying that mango while thinking about
nothing but the warmth of the day.
I am really interested by dreams, but perhaps i will leave that until next time
if your interested.
OK hope to hear from you,
A
PS. I am also interested in black and white photography and old cameras as they
have a certain element of black magic to them, perhaps I can send you some
pictures, I'll see.
A*** is a man who loves life, don't u think? If anyone wants to write to him I will forward your e-mail.

News release - Embargoed until Monday 15th May 2000
Grants money subtext to bureaucrat's attempt to fix green representation?
FoI lodged. Bowen must explain and/or resign.
FoE has learnt of a letter by a senior officer, Mr Rex Bowen, of Resource &
Conservation department to the executive officer of the Nature Conservation
Council of NSW (The NCC). The NCC has administered over $400,000 of
government grants from the Carr government in relation to forest issues
over the last 4 years but always on an interim 6 to 12 month basis.
The letter received by NCC in the last week or so has been read to FoE and
indicates that the current NCC representative - Mr Noel Plumb, executive
officer of the National Parks Association (the biggest and possibly most
influential green group on reservation decisions) - is unacceptable to the
government as a green representative due to his "political posturing".
Bowen indicates a preference for a more compliant less vocal representative.
Rex Bowen is the bureaucratic gatekeeper for grants to NCC and other
stakeholders. It defies credibility that financial duress is not implied in
the correspondence. FoE calls on Bowen to resign and to confirm the forest
grants system was always intended to manipulate diversity and independence.
Tom McLoughlin, FoE forests NSW campaigner said today "This is the first
written evidence of what Noam Chomsky refers to as manufacturing consent.
FoE mean to obtain a copy by FoI. Plumb is too strong willed to be
silenced. The government was forced recently to backdown on logging in
Pilliga and Goonoo in the central west where Plumb actively worked in
alliance with central west green and Koori groups including a well attended
public meeting. The logging minister Yeadon is also angry he couldn't
totally trash public forests in the recent south coast forest decision.
"This is the pay back for democratic campaigning Carr government style.
It's the same dumb, arrogant approach to government that has refused to
consider exiting into the massive plantation stockpile for the last 5
years, instead preferring vested interests adverse to the public interest.
Friends of the Earth lodged a Freedom of Information request today to the
NSW Department of Urban Affairs and Planning, with copies to senior
officers in the Resource and Conservation department housed within DUAP
(see attached).

FoI request re recent RACd/Rex Bowen correspondence to Nature Conservation
Council of NSW (NCC) re "appropriate" environment personnel/representation
for stakeholder negotiatons for western division forests of NSW
Friends of the Earth, Sydney (FoE) has learnt indirectly that the above
correspondence was sent to Ms Kathy Ridge, Executive Officer of NCC on or
about May 2000 by Rex Bowen, senior officer with the Resource and
Conservation department housed within DUAP. FoE formerly requests a copy
of that letter pursuant to section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act
1989 (NSW)
Please note the form of access sought is by photocopy faxed to the above
fax number (with original mailed to the above address) as contemplated
under section 27 of the FoI Act. The writer can be contacted on tel.
02-9517 3900 or 0410 558838 between 7.00 am and 1.00 pm most weekdays to
facilitate delivery.
Please also note our request for a 100% discount on any FoI fees applicable
on the basis the application is made by a voluntary non-profit organisation
that works in circumstances of financial hardship. I understand
discounting for community groups is standard practise with some government
agencies for community groups.
We look forward to your co-operation with this matter and in any case
within 21 days under section 24 of the FoI Act.. Similarly we have copied
this letter to Mr Bowen and his supervisor Mr Gerry Gleeson on the basis of
sections in division one of the FoI Act requiring cooperation between
officers of agencies to fulfil FoI requests, if relevant e.g. sections 19
and 20.
Yours faithfully
Tom McLoughlin, NSW Policy

Hi there my name is A*****,

Yes, some of your pictures would be interesting.
I don't write to people often and I don't work on the site so much now. Actually things have changed in these last three years but we have left the site up because so many people say they enjoy it.
Sydney is a special place: so close to wilderness but everyone ignores it except a few bushwalking adventurers. But bushwalkers at home in city are boring so I show some fun in the bush. That was idea for site. Still true I think.
About your b & w, perhaps you can email some to me.
I hope you find someone interesting in the bar

shinai bags. They are made of cordura with leather bottoms and come in
blue, black, grey, purple, and forest green. The cost is $75 for bogu and
$55 for shinai (shipping not included). It will take about three months
from the time the order is placed. If you are interested or have any
questions about them contact Brian at celtica@wa.freei.net.
If you would like to view a picture of these bags, please click on the
following url, or email kendo@u.washington.edu. Please note, the AUSKF
patch does NOT come with either bag.

Please note, too, that this is not a commercial venture, simply a service
to kenshi who may wish to obtain an excellent shinai or bogu bag. Many
thanks! Brian

Are you ever going to update your page?
Reply: Not often. But maybe you can send me some of your bush pictures. You can explore a little here. Or you can be a pirate and find something for the print gallery. Or you can be useful.
Actually someone send me this ban
er so I show it here. I think it is about how Australia was a generous country with many public owned banks and insurance companies and cooperatives busnesses. Now management offer shares or money then pay themselves big salaries and big fees for their ad
isor friends. Then member becomes customer and soon pays more :( Here it is:
