The Boom of Alcoholic Drinks in China : This is what's going to help things out, if China starts tipping back a few more pints. Looking at www.powerasp.com today. Seems the DSN-less connection if faster than using a system DSN. I got my links database to work for torasap.com last night. Now to finalize the product database. Going to Dreamworld on Saturday. Lets see "Thai" amusement. Oh.. It's the vegitiarian (jay) fest here, so most restaurants are serving some good food, and will be for another 7 days or so...

Marketing Smarts:If you high-tail your corpulent, sofa-bound ass over to the Great TiVo Giveaway and burp up a 250-word essay on why you desperately need the ability to bend the boob tube to your will, you could win a free TiVo. A simple cynic might suspect that the company is doing this only to generate revenue from the required subscription fee; but the more sophisticated cynic believes that they're bribing a whole generation of epinion makers. Hand out a box to anybody capable of making a decent argument for its existence, and you've created a zombie army of sales people on the cheap, all of whom will happily set about addicting their friends, neighbors, co-workers and pets. Pretty clever for something that combines the idiot box with the dummy pipe. Suck: Daily

Support Congressman Rick Boucher-he knows what's up! US Representative Rick Boucher (Democrat, Virginia) introduced a bill, called the "Music Owners' Listening Rights Act of 2000", in the House Monday which would protect a downloadable audio database from copyright infringement complaints if it were accessible only to people who had previously purchased the music in another format. In other words, if they behaved just like MP3.com. Congress might screw RIAA over MP3 shares

While Gaskill, 29, admitted to making liberal use of PhotoFrame 2.0, he insists that it was appropriate for the job at hand. "Sure, I was eager to try out the new plug-in," Gaskill said, "but only because it was perfect for this job. The wave-frame effect gives Valley View Apartments that dynamic, cutting-edge feel it needs. It communicates that Valley View living is so convenient and affordable, it'll blow your freakin' mind." Despite Gaskill's confidence, fellow Blue Moon graphic designers say they would have given the brochure a more traditional look. "It's an ad for an apartment complex, not a head shop," Mahaffey said. "Why would you want to show Valley View's 'convenient on-site parking' and 'friendly office team' through a hallucinogenic haze?" Graphic Designer

More reasons why the Chinese government is scary:Officials in Shanghai are shutting down more than half the city's 1,000 internet cafes amid fears they are corrupting users. The Shanghai Daily newspaper quoted a local government official as saying that playing games on computers was "primitive". According to China's laws, operators of internet bars must install a "software manager" which can tell the government who is using the computers. Customers must also show identity cards when using internet cafes so they can be tracked down if they break the rules. Last month they arrested a high school teacher for posting articles critical of the communist authorities on the internet from a cybercafe in Nanchong. Shanghai shuts cybercafes

The year 2010 most silly concepts:A CD collection. >>You spent 15 years on a Plastic collection where you only listen to 5% of it? A Carousel CD changer >> Rotate 5 CDs in the space it takes to hold over 5,000? The CD >> A piece of Plastic that gives you the right to hear a whole 12 songs, when you just want 2. The CD store >> You mean I need to physically walk these isles to and physically shuffle the Plastic instead of doing a simple search on my phone and hearing the tune on any device within range in 3 seconds? Cover Art >> Well, since the woman on the cover is almost naked, I bet this will be good music. The "Best Of" CD >> Thanks so much for telling me which song of yours you think are "the best" cause I can't make those kind of decisions on my own. Representative Rich Boucher (D-Virginia) -- along with three Republicans -- introduced legislation Monday that would make it legal to create a database of sound recordings for the sole purpose of transmitting those recordings to individuals who had previously purchased music. This site is another great example of the unprofessional nature of Thai design. Acer Thailand is a supposed e-commerce site, but the "buy" button on the front page is not even a clickable button. Upon reaching the "buy this product" screen, I am given a form that I have to fill in. Then someone, sometime will contact me. Here I am, ready to give them money, and they tell me:" Under normal circumstances you will hear from us within 24 hours. However, sometimes due to technical circumstances that are beyond our control and if you do not hear from us, please send us a reminder. We really appreciate this. You can count on our commitment to ensure that your request is promptly attended." You appreciate a reminder? I'm sure you do, and knowing the persistent and dutiful customer I am, I will surely send you one. And look at this graphic: Talk about 80's.

Ok. Today I researched the use of FAQMentor, an ASP tool to generate FAQ pages. It uses an admin login for editing the content via an Access Database. But for some reason it had a read only error, so I was unable to test it fully. I'll need to complain. Going to go DJ tonight. Should be dead, but fun. I'll try and make a CD today of the fashion party. Check it out.
