standing waves (12679 bytes) Reinga point beach (6817 bytes)
Below the lighthouse the swell from the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet, violently crashing against each other creating white haystack-like lumps called blind rollers. The sea was relatively calm when we visited the Cape, there were no whitecaps, and still the swell collided. This must be an awsome sight during a storm!
