Sailing under the Golden Gate into San Francisco Bay

The lack of wind was a bit disappointing but as we came down Bonita Channel past the Potato Patch Shoal, the fog began to lift and the wind piped up from the southwest so we hauled out the jibs. (The main was already up)
We were able to reach down the channel and then turn in under Golden Gate bridge on a very broad reach, sailing all the way in to Angel Island, on the north side of the bay.

It was a thrill to sail into San Francisco and, as we arrived on a sunny Sunday afternoon, the bay was full of sailboats, power boats, tour boats and ferries (plus the occasional freighter).
