PT A&K DOOR INDONESIA PT A&K Door Indonesia is 100% Japanese-owned company. It was established on May 8th, 1996. Parent company is located in Shinjuku, Tokyo named Abe Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha. Abe Kogyo is currently number one (holds around 30% market share in Japan) wooden materials, furniture, front and interior doors producer in Japan. It's concept is called TED (Technology, Ecology and Design). Abe Kogyo website can be access from the links menu. PT A&K Door Indonesia has a factory located in Karawang, West Java. With around 40 Indonesian workers, PT A&K Door Indonesia produces around a thousand wooden doors and frames each month and exports them all to Japan. Besides a factory, PT A&K Door Indonesia has small central office in Jakarta. It is located next to President Hotel. Current President Director is Hideo Yamamoto. Karawang factory is managed by Factory Manager Masahiro Nakane. I belonged to Jakarta office. As the office manager for the company, I directly reported all works to the President Director. I have regular meeting with President Director everyday, usually in the morning. We discuss in detailed what should be done daily, weekly and monthly basis. My main job is to maintain accounting system for the company. Beside accounting, I deal a lot with taxes, human resources and general affairs of the company. This is a challenging work, because I could learn many things other than just accounting. President Director always teach and guide me how to manage a company in a proper way. His way is a mixed of his experiences in Japan and also his personal experience in establishing a company in Indonesia. One more thing, as I use Japanese language everyday with him, he helped me a lot with Japanese language for business practices which is different with casual conversation. This is a really good advantage for me. We have a yearly company tour to celebrate company's birthday on May 8th. For the year 2000, we went to a beach in Anyer, West Java. It was wonderful trip and all employees were enjoyed it a lot. We stayed there for 2 days. On January 19th, 2001, I officially resigned from the company to continue my study in Hiroshima University, Japan. This is hard for me because I enjoyed a lot working for the company, but to continue my study in Japan is also one of my biggest dreams. |
