Day 1 - Jerusalem
Jerusalem is central to Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The Christian can follow in the steps of Christ as he bore the cross to the crucifixion. Along the way, stations are marked, where different events occurred. Here is station 5, where Simon picked up Christ's cross and carried it.
Inside is an altar. (Below) Most of the stations have some place of worship nearby.
Ultimately, the way leads to the The Church of the Holy Sepulcher. (Below Right) Inside are the final spots were it is believed that Christ was crucified and taken from the cross. We were following a map showing the location of the church. What the map did not show was that only a narrow street provided access to the church, and one has to walk around many smaller buildings surrounding the perimeter of the church before the entrance reveals itself.
