Local Parks
There have been fun lovers visit this park

We love the park. Slides, swings, ladders, running amuck ... whats not to love. We have two favorite parks, Hugh Mcrae Park and Empie Park. We like it best when the parks are filled with other kids and we get to make new friends.

This is a cool wooden train across from the Railroad Museum. The girls really love to play on it. All aboard, next stop, Imagination Station.

This is part of Hugh McRae park. There is another set of slides and swings for older kids and ballfields all over the place. There is also a equestrian area for just horsing around (haha, I crack me up!).
Empie park is another cool place (I like it best). All the slides and the ladders are connected by one big platform like a big fort. This is Brie coming down the big tube slide.

This is a pic of a park in Morehead City. It was built by volunteers in the community and money was raised from private sources. There are many of these parks across the State design by a man who insist that the community puts in the sweat equity. I wish we had one in Wilmington, they are the best parks. This is Savannah and her second cousin, Zackery.

This is another pic of the park in Morehead City. This is Brianna, Zackery and Zackery's daddy, Wayne. We sure had fun that day. B>

There are also parks that dont have swings and slides, but are still fun. You can visit Fort Fisher State Park and see a civil war museum or climb up on a real civil war fort. Across the river is Fort Anderson, another civil war fort, built on the site of Old Brunswicktown, a revolutionary war era town. At Carolina Beach State Park you can camp along the river or hike through the maritime forest and visit the largest sand dune in the area, Sugarloaf. Its a 3 mile hike, but the trail crosses the marsh, drifts along the river, meanders through the woods and passes through some ponds before returning back to the beginning.
