The Antonov Foundation was fortunate to have a group of Boy Scouts who got involved with us trying to locate a number to on a find from the ocean which was retrieved by the Foundation's President!! It is believed that this is the parachute door from the F4 Phantom flown by Commander Harley Hall in the 1972 Quonset Naval Relief Carnival Air Show. Commander Hall had a problem and had to eject northwest of Jamestown. The airplane went into the bay. Its’ canopy was recovered many years ago by another commercial fisherman and is at the Quonset Air Museum. It is significant in that Commander Harley Hall survived the ejection just fine, but went on to become the last man missing in action in the Vietnam conflict. He was well liked and respected by all.
