Ko Chang
A very nice island about 5 hours east from Bangkok. Going to this island is a very good alternative instead of going south. The beach in the west and south part of the island is quite good. Snorkling trips are arranged from the southwest part of the island. In August and September there arenīt that many people visiting the island.
Krabi
A very famous beach area in the south west of Thailand. Krabi is really touristy with big beach resorts. The area is known for its rock climbing and beautiful green-blue water. The seafood is excellent and cheap as other places in the south. If you donīt mind the many tourists, Krabi is worth a visit, but donīt go there, if you want to avoid tourists.
