This is my 5th year in da diving arena... guess i'd have many 5 years to go b4 i could possibly give up this sport... hehe... may be i'll never give it up... just luv it more & more as da days go by... i've basically log up to 176 dives(as @ 25th July 1997), however since my homepage in only up & running since 14th Feb 1997... i'd just be a little lazy & skip watever dives logged b4 the homepage is constructed... :-)...
kinda dissappointed cuz didnt meet my dream lover... hehe... da whale sharks!!... & i missed da manta rays while all the others onboard saw them & some lucky ones were surrounded by them... **sob sob**... nonetheless, it was a good trip...
This 4 days 3 nites trip to the island i've long for was simply memorable... the sea must have sensed my arrival after all these years' waiting... it just gave me a ROUGH welcum... hehe... the sea was so rough all the time... strong current, surge, waves, sea sick... but nothing stops me from making my dives there...
Well, i wouldnt say it was a remarkable dive spot, but we dint managed to visit the best sites of tenggol due to the unwelcum conditions... :-(... so i really shouldnt draw any final conclusion here... but the resort was very comfortable especially with the newly built chalets... check them out at Tenggol Aqua Resort...
There's a wreck there in tenggol which attracted some really serious nitrox divers... again, due to the unwanted nature factor, we dint managed to even descend after approching the bouy marker... disappointing!!...hhhmm.... that might leave me some excuses to go back there & give it anothre try... :-)...
It was absolutely an awesome trip... mainly cave/cavern diving in Phi-Phi... there was 1 particular dive where we were able to ditch all da equipment halfway thru da dive & climb da underwater cave... simply fabulous!!... the site was called Snake Cave btw... i luv penetration myself & cave diving is just one of my fav dive activity underwater...
after 3 days in Phi-Phi... i did a wreck dive in Ko Waeo, Bang Tao, Northern Phuket... it was a tin trench with thousands of fishes residing... & i had one of my many dreams fulfilled here... there was a school of juvenile barracuda surrounding me in da water... simply fantastic dive though da vis was kinda poor...
a divemaster training trip... had lots of fun, no doubt a great trip... met old frenz while making new ones... it alwaz feel good to be able to assist new divers thru open water sessions... especially those who are there to learn & share...
i only made 4 dives wif da leisure divers.. oso for divemaster training whereby i've to do boat & dive site briefing... & there are 2 particular dive sites worth mentioning...
1 of it is Tengkorak Island, off Bidong Island... fantastic visibility (i'd say at least 100ft), mild drift, lots of colorful soft corals & tiny fishes... average depth is about 50ft (17m)... however, big fishes are lacking at this site due to da strong current between tengkorak & bidong, which in turn attracts sharks & thus scared away da big fishes...
another site is a new spot just discovered by da divemaster from Pelangi Beach Resort... called da Anemonea City... full of sea anemonea just as da name implied... average depth is about 60ft (20m)... good dive... very relaxing & this is da site where u'd be able to find lots & lots of big fishes hanging around... but da visibility wasnt great when i was there... could it be da natural causes or just da clumsy movements of divers wif no bouyancy control at all?... i wonder...
well, another divemaster training trip... but still have as much fun if not more... every divemater training trip is alwaz beneficial & fun!!... :-)...
hmm... basically da visibility wasnt that great 4 da entire trip... well, this is da typical trait of Perhentian... da visibility is alwaz unpredictable even when July happens to be one of da best time to visit it... however, current wasnt really running... thus leaving us wif less work to do but mere relaxing drift dive & terribly mild current fighting...
some whale sharks were sighted at Tokong Laut few days b4 we went there... but seems like we just dont have dat kinda luck to meet this wonderful creature yet... however, it's believed dat dolphins & pilot whales r often seen here at Perhentian in July & August...
i was wif this resort called Flora Bay this trip... a very clean, decent yet reasonably-priced chalet to stay... wif a rather well-established dive centre attached... highly recommended if ur looking 4 stressless holiday wif typical local food...
