Month 2
August 28 - September 24

Aug. 28 ~ Sept. 3 ~  This week was much better than last week. I had felt so awful, and to top it off I had the poor me's! I'm going to ask the Dr for a higher dose of Zoloft. I think that may help. This new batch of Intron doesn't seem to burn as much as that last month's batch. The needles are 271/2 gauge tho, and are leaving holes in my legs! I had asked that they send me 28 or 30 gauge, but I guess they don't have access to those because they just keep giving me these HUGE ones! The fatigue has eased up a bit this week too. I am still out of breath quite a bit, but now I rest halfway up the stairs! I ate much better this week too. I haven't lost any more weight so I must be holding something someplace! I still have no taste other than a metal one in my mouth. Food has no taste to me anymore at all. No wonder I don't feel like eating!
I think one of the reasons I felt so bad last week was because I had taken the Ribavarin pills out of the fridge and was taking them from the cupboard. They are supposed to be refridgerated along with the Intron. I have no idea why I took them out, but they are back in the fridge and this week wasn't near as bad as last.
I'm still waiting for the PCP to get an authorization for me to go back to my Gastro. (What a mess THAT has been) I should have had blood work done this week but can't until the morons in the PCP office get the paperwork in. They don't seem to realize how important this is. The State of CA is messing up my disability checks so they are now late again too. Just what I need....more stress!

Sept.4 ~ Sept.10 ~ Well so far this week stinks. Larry, my husband, has tested positive for HCV. We know he most likely got it when he was in the Marines in Vietnam. I am just in shock. He hasn't said much but it is sinking in, I'm sure. We are both at a loss right now. This is just a terrible blow to us.
The week got a bit better as it went along but not much! I find myself very angry about Larry also having HCV. I didn't sleep worth a darn all week and have lost 3 pounds as well. It seems like I get more fatigued as the week goes by. By Friday and through the weekend I am just exhausted and am resting half way up the stairs again!

Sept.11 ~ Sept.17 ~ What a week. Tuesday I went to the ER. I woke up with the worst headache I have ever had in my life. It felt like my head was going to explode! They did a CT Scan, and a Lumbar Puncture and both came out normal. The Dr decided it was a migraine and gave me a shot of Demerol. That did nothing to the headache! I have had migraines before and this was no migraine. Luckily I was fine the next day. I imagine it was caused by stress since I have been under so much lately with Larry testing positive.
We went on a mini vacation the end of the week to Laughlin. Larry golfed and I gambled! I've decided I'm no fun anymore as I was in bed by 9 every night! I have noticed my tongue has become extremly sore lately. I seem to have small sores on it and its very tender and burns. I will see the Dr next week and ask him about it. I'm sure its another side of the drugs!

Sept.18 ~ Sept.24 ~ I had my Dr appt finally. He says the tongue problem IS from the drugs but gave me a prescription to use on it. I told him about my brain getting worse too and he just says its from the drugs. After telling him about Larry, he upped my Zoloft to 100 mg a day. I've been depressed about it and hopefully this will help me deal with it better.
I will be getting bloodwork done again finally tomorrow morning. I've still got 6 weeks until the PCR will be done again. My eyes seem to be getting worse now. They are blurry much more than they used to be. I know its the drugs but hope that it doesn't stay this way when I go off of them. My hair is still coming out in handfuls. Its so thin now and I hate even washing it anymore. I've taken to resting half way up the stairs now as well. I seem to be very out of breath most of the time anymore. My weight loss has slowed quite a bit. I have only lost 5 pounds since seeing the Dr at the end of July.
