This is a pretty cool program that I've seen a lot of my friends in college use. It's a lot like ICQ, which is seen below, but has a much more simplified interface. You can chat, talk, send files and many other things with this program... I definately reccomend it if you wish to keep up with friends online.

 

Gnotella has got to be one of the best programs ever made. If you've ever appreciated Napster, Scour, or Imesh, you'll love this. The even better news is that Gnotella doesn't just search for mp3 files like Napster, but will let you search for ANY type of file (you can get divx, zip files, mpg, mp3-of courese, etc..) This is a must-have program

WeatherBug

Yet another useful program. WeatherBug will tell you the current waether in your area, as well as the forecast for the days to come. It hides out of the way in the corner of your screen in Windows' system tray.

 

 

This is such a cool program... I'm not going to elaborate on why it is. I'll just let you do the research on this one.

This is what the computer industry calls a "killer app." If you don't already have this one.. you should just give up using a computer. Of course.. it plays mp3 files and it supports many cool plug-ins as well.

 

ICQ is a very cool program that let's me keep in touch with other people across the internet. In a snap, I can send someone a file, message, URL, or a chat request. Get this program soon before it's owners start charging for it.

My favorite computer game. This is a free demo that is better that 90% of the full version games that are found today. This game is multiplayer only. The idea of the game is quite simple.. capture the flag (as well as other scenarios), but you will find yourself attached to the computer screen for hours.

 

Simple, and easy to learn. If you're into file trading, this is the FTP client to get. I use it to trade with others, as well as to access my files at my university... even when at home. You dan download the latest version, but only as a trial. You may still find yourself paying the price for it after you use it though.
