Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

7 Card Stud Hi-Lo is played the exact same way as 7 Card Stud, with one important difference. There are two ways to win. It is possible to win the Hi(half the pot) or the Lo(half the pot), or both. Most Hi-Lo games are 'Eights or Better' which means that a low hand must consist of five cards of different rank, that are 8 or lower.(Ace thru 8)

The lowest possible hand is A2345, then A2346, then A2356, etc.

If nobody has a low, the high hand will win the entire pot.

7 Card Stud

1. Antes are posted.
2. Two cards are dealt face down to each player, followed by one card face up. The player with the smallest upcard must start the betting.
3. One card is dealt face up, followed by a round of betting, until the players have 4 upcards.
4. The final card is dealt face down, followed by the final round of betting.

Mucked Cards

One quick, but important tip. Pay attention to which cards people have folded. For example, if you're on a spade flush draw, it would benefit you if you had remembered that three players had folded, and had two spades each, making your odds terrible. More details about this will be available later.
