Rambling about Hosting VGAP


Current VGAP Games in the Realm :

I have currently suspended hosting games via the internet until I can upgrade my system to use automated hosting resources for more reliable transfers.
The BORG: Game Ended 2/20/99

The BORG have gained an unfair advantage in the echo cluster and threaten to assimilate the Universe. The races must work together or act independantly to capture the Borg's homeworld or face extinction. Each race begins with a Starbase and 10 planets and the winner will be determined by REF.EXE using the "Ashes of the Old Empire" scenario.
Players may choose to claim 2 races and the Borg will be played by the Kattivik Cplayer. Unclaimed races will remain inactive. The game will use the Ships 98 custom data. (download
BORGGAME.ZIP for the custom ship *.dat files and information on how to use it) Starbase + (registered) and the PWRAP wrapped universe add-ons.


RAGNAROK: Game Ended 4/28/99

A Custom game designed for First Timers in the Realm as well as Newbies, Beginners, and Seasoned Players. A quick "Casual" game ideal for familiarizing yourself with the various ships types. All players start with tech 10 on thier Homeworld (Cyborg Assimilation only 20%) with 2 extra Starbases and 5 "support" planets. After 30 turns all ships are teleported to a common waypoint into an all out Fight to the Death creating "tons" of VCR Battles!


Millenia: Game Started 2/22/99

An Open Ended game (tentatively until 1,1,2000) using a custom Starmap, Ships 98, Starbase +, and PWRAP. Each race stars with 6 Superfreighters near a cluster of stars, no planets or homeworlds. The object is to colonize and control the Universe with no defined winning condition other than becoming the most dominant Race in the Universe before the Millennium. Players should download the MILLGAME.ZIP for the custom map and ship data.

An alternate VGA Planets interface (using PLANETS.EXE) that gives players more control over their game as well as a running history of each turn. Highly Recommended for DOS players and it's FREEWARE.

RANDMAX Download RANDMAX.ZIP
A very useful player utility that automates the sometimes tedious task of planet, native, and colonist management. Randomizes Fcodes and Maximizes Planetary Production and Taxation. Includes RANDGEN.EXE to help generate maximum setting to suit individual planet potential.

In my opinion these are the BEST utilities available but there are many more useful utilities you may want to examine. Most of them can be found at the in the VGA Plantes FTP Site.
