The Wrath of Chaotix
An RPG Cleverly Designed by Robo
Chapter II
(The first chapter dealt with the meeting of David and Ordac. The next few chapters switch scenes to the other two characters of the game).
Lord Hearston Rusland was sitting in the main room of his mansion, counting his money, as usual. Suddenly a knock is heard at the door.
"Enter, and make it quick," Hearston said. He did not like having to put off counting his wealth. In walked Michele.
Michele was one of the few ladies who liked him. Hearston had long blonde hair, and most women, not only in the area, but also throughout various parts of the world found him attractive, but most were turned off by his arrogance.
"A messenger from Malting has come, bringing some news," she said.
"All right, it has been a while since I heard any news from the kingdom, let him in," said Hearston.
In walked the small man, who held a scroll. "Ahem," he said, looking towards Michele.
"Whatever you have to tell me, you can say in front of her," said Hearston impatiently. "Now hurry, time is money!"
The man read the message, which was written by King Murry himself. "Two months ago, a message from Chaotix was sent to our capitol city of Mago. He delivered an ultimatum; we either join his forces or face destruction. The messenger said, ‘Should we not join him, we will be attacked very soon.’
I told him, ‘I cannot give an answer for now.’ I did not want to openly admit to being against Chaotix, ever since The Alliance was shattered some time ago. Twice he returned, and twice I gave him the same answer. Now Chaotix has grown impatient, and has sent His messenger again, this time telling us to prepare for war.
We have not prepared for war, and are at a state of panic. To train soldiers and craft weapons takes money. Normally we would leave you alone and take care of ourselves, but we must ask for your money. Together, we can pull through this. Yours truly, King Edward Murry."
Hearston’s face said it all, he was furious. "Get out. Get out now!" King Murry’s messenger grew frightened and tried to make it out, but it was too late. Hearston signaled to Michele, who picked the man up and tossed him out the window. Fortunately Hearston’s money room was on the second floor, so the survived with relatively few injuries. "The fool!" he shouted. "Isn’t this just typical? Those kings of Malting are and always have been fools. They wasted their money on charities and public services, never even thinking of keeping funds for these emergency situations." Michele nodded in agreement. "Well Michele, I will tell you this. My ancestors bought this city long ago, and we no longer have to answer to King Murry or any other fool who runs Malting. But he’s right, if I do not lend him money, Chaotix will invade Malting, and then Elman!"
"Chaotix is strong, but I doubt He is invincible," said Michele, with an angry look in her eyes. Though Chaotix never affected her life, she had no love for Him either.
"Meaning what, exactly?" asked Hearston. "You surely do not mean…"
"Yes, if we destroy Him, there will be no attacks," she answered.
"Michele, I could kiss you!" cried Hearston. "Do you know how much money you just saved me?! However, there is one problem. Do you think we can beat Him?"
"I fear no man," she answered.
"Very well, and if we perish, so be it," said Hearston. "After all, what is life worth living if there is no money. We set tomorrow, and be sure to take your spear along, no knowing what trouble one may run into."
They had no idea.
