CONOR

In the central plains of Barsaive, lies a relatively large Kaer, named Tamlact (lit. the hill of the plague). It was from here that Conor grew as a youth, being heir to the throne of Tamlact's destined lands (should the scourges end). Until the age of 7, Conors life was un-tainted by the touch of evil. But during the celebration of his 8th birthday, the citadel fell under demonic attacks.

His family fought and fell before his eyes, as the underground peoples of Tamlact, sought to remove the evil presence from their homes. Th family advisor, 'Fardhel the black', took Conor under his wing determined to use the young boys strengths to help fight off the horrors.

Unter Fardhel's tutelage Conor learned all there was to know about the workings of apprentice Nethermancy. And by Fardhels side he fought off the evil. His logic, was that one must work with evil and manipulate its strengths, in order to destroy it. One must think like an evil being - become evil - in order to conquer it.

As Conor slept one night, in the study next to Fardhels workshop, Something came into the room. The presence just passed by him, like a fog blowing away in the morning breeze. He stared in dismay, paralysed with fear, as the presence took Fardhels life, then took his body. In a fight that nearly cost him his life, Conor battled with Fardhels corpse, fleeing after recieving near fatal wounds. He crawled out of the Kaer, knowing that the presence would soon take over the populace that his family had defended for all those years.

Conor wandered about, through the mountainous regions, and stared in awe as the sun came up. Never before had he seen sich light. His only thoughts however, were that the deceptive nature of light connotated 'goodness' - which would lull the poor inhabitants of this mysterious place, into false senses of security. Conor knew of the evils that hid inside every shadow, and that shadows prospered in the presence of true light.

As if he were hunting darkness, he found it right before him only ten days later. As he gathered wild berries in a nearby grove, he was lept upon by several fully grown men. They dragged him into a wagon lined with bars, as if he were an animal. Later he was to learn that these were the treacherous Therans.

A week later, as the Therans lay camp, Conor traced a pattern he had learned from his master, to summon a spirit made of mist. Using this spirit, he escaped his slave destiny, and aided the mighty 'Brun of the flaming horns raiderclan', and his shifty companions'Jarra' and 'Harrigan', to take revenge upon the Theran slavers.
