THE U.A.R.

Webley Digger Armour

A light powered exoskeleton. The exoskeleton is available very cheaply with an energy cell pack, or at a more common price with a micro-fusion reactor. Webley have made an effort to make a reliable, inexpensive, simple and light suit which still fits the description of powered armour. It's a new design, though, and is subject to quite frequent breakdowns (malfunction 5%, average at least one breakdown per week of operation).

Dimensions: 1.8m tall, 200 kg with either cell pack or nuclear plant.

Performance: can run at up to 60 km/h and leap up to 10m long or 3m up. Running tires the wearer at 1/3 the usual rate. With an energy cell pack, the suit has an endurance of 12 hours. PS 24.

MDC:

Body 120 Head 60

Arms 60 Legs 80

Armament: none. It can, however, use HTH techniques and any hand-held weapons.

Other Equipment: the suit has a power port and connector cable to power accessories or energy weapons. However, if the suit is powered by a cell pack, each E-clip worth of energy consumed by weapons reduces the suit's endurance by 20 minutes.

Cost: a nuclear-powered suit costs $850K. However, a cell-powered suit is only $350K.

Webley Long Range Patrol armour (LRP)

A light power armour designed for extended patrols into the desert. Not capable of flight without a rocket pack, it can instead run as long at the operator can manage at up to 75 km/h. Light armament, but a very reliable design, easy to maintain and repair.

Dimensions:

Stands 1.9m tall, mass 250 kg including micro-fusion power plant.

Performance:

Top running speed 75 km/h, can jump up to 50m long or 25m up. Can maintain running speed indefinitely (the operator tires as 1/3 normal rate). P.S. 24.

M.D.C.:

Body 160 Head 60

Arms 75 Legs 90

Laser rifle 20

Armament:

Right arm-mounted P-20 pulse laser. Range 300m, damage 2D6 per shot or 6D6 for a triple-pulse burst. Ammunition unlimited, +1 strike.

Also has a universal weapon power port at the waist, with a retracting cord for powered any standard energy weapon.

Other equipment:

Hot smoke discharger can dispense rust-coloured hot smoke resembling dust (which will defeat normal vision, IR, UV, and thermographic scanners) in a 10m radius. 10 charges.

Equipment pannier mounted behind both hips can hold up to 50 kg of equipment, but nothing longer than 50cm in any dimension (i.e. no rifles).

Vaporator system collects water from the air, even in the desert, and also recycles operator sweat and urine. Collects up to 250ml/hour, stores up to 10L.

Cost:

$800K from a licenced dealer in the UAR.

Webley High Speed Combat armour (HSC)

A heavy power armour designed for short periods of intense combat. It's highly maneuverable because of its oversized vectored-thrust jet engine, but the engine overheats the suit rapidly, and can only be used for 20 minutes before a 40-minute cooling cycle must be engaged. An excellent suit if well-maintained, otherwise suffering from constant breakdowns. There are distinct similarities between this suit and the Republic's Lithgow Battle armour, also with the CS SAMAS, despite the absence of the skull motif. The thrusters, in addition, are much larger.

Dimensions:

Stands 2.4m tall, mass 400 kg including micro-fusion power plant.

Performance:

Top running speed 60 km/h, can jump up to 30m long or 15m up without jets. Flying can reach 400 km/h, up to an altitude of 1 km, but this overheats the engine rapidly. If used only for regular jumps, a speed of 200 km/h can be maintained by the suit indefinitely (the operator tires as 1/3 normal rate). P.S. 28.

M.D.C.:

Body 220 Head 70

Arms 90 Legs 120

Railgun 50 Missile pack 25

Thrusters (2) 75

Armament:

RG-3 railgun on hip swing mount, normally carried horizontally across the front of the body or pointed forward from the hip below the right arm. Ammunition drum holds 2000 rounds (50 short bursts). Range 1500m, damage D4x10 per 40 round burst.

3-tube minimissile launcher mounted behind left shoulder (total capacity: 3 mini missiles). Can fire single shots or volleys of 2 or 3.

10 charges. When using its engines, a HSC suit will still be visible to thermographic scanners through this smoke, since it's much hotter than the smoke.

Equipment pannier mounted behind both hips can hold up to 50 kg of equipment, but nothing longer than 50cm in any dimension (i.e. no rifles).

Cost:

$1.4M from a licenced dealer in the UAR.

Combat bonuses:

The extreme maneuverability and speed of the HSC suit gives it +1 strike and parry and +2 dodge when its thrusters are engaged, or +4 dodge if travelling faster than 200 km/h.

NOTE: Continuing to run the armour's jet engine for longer than 20 minutes is 10% likely per minute to cause a severe engine failure (01-60 requires 1-4 hours of work by a mechanic with a portable tool kit, 61-00 engine must be replaced in a full workshop). In addition, the suit's climate control cannot dump all the heat, and the pilot must make P.E. checks (X10 after 21 minutes, X9 after 22, X8 after 23, etc.) each minute the overheating continues or pass out from heatstroke.

CEC Cerberus Mystic Robot Vehicle

Unlike the CEC power armours, this TW weapon is based on the chassis of a sturdy robot vehicle (not dissimilar to the Jacobite Webley A-1), entirely functional without the magical aspects (however, the power plant is a TW device). It resembles the mystic power armours outwardly. Pilot RPA is required to pilot this machine, and psionic or magical powers are NOT required to employ the weapons. However, these machines have been known to crush intruders who have tried to steal them; it's not known how they move while empty, or how they recognise their owners. The Cerberus' dual missile packs give it the impression of having three heads.

Dimensions:

Stands 9m tall, mass 16 tonnes.

CEC Godling Mystic Power Armour

More a human-sized robot than an armour, this represents a unique concept. It cannot be opened. Instead, using a special incantation, a psyche can pass from its own body into the armour, using it as a temporary host. Once this is done, it functions as though it was their body (though more powerful). Their vacant body is tended for in special Javan facilities (no disabilities for up to 2 weeks of vacancy, and 2 weeks is a standard tour) while they, empowered, can act in the field. In their new body they suffer hardly any pain or shock, cannot be knocked out by physical force or impacts, do not need to eat, drink or evacuate, and if killed return to their own bodies (though recovery may take up to a month). However, they still need sleep and are vulnerable to magical and psychic attack as though not wearing environmental armour (though +3 on saves).

Dimensions:

Stands 1.8m tall, mass 300 kg

Performance:

Top running speed 75 km/h, can jump up to 50m long or 25m up. Can maintain running speed indefinitely. PS 24 (supernatural), PP 20.

M.D.C.: (regenerates at 1 MDC/minute)

Body 180 Head 90

Arms 90 Legs 120

THE PRE-RIFTS AUSTRALIAN REPUBLIC

Optimax Trapdoor Defence Drone

A spider-style machine with a disc-shaped body, used as a short-range defence drone before the time of rifts. Still occasionally encountered in the ruins of military installations. Directed by a dogbrain with combat processor. When on patrol transmits sensory data continuously and receives orders from the coordinating brain. If control is cut off, reverts to patrol/destroy programming. When on standby mode, is immune to EMP; but can receive orders, and if struck by EMP, immediately goes active. Excellent digger and climber, prowl 90.

Dimensions:

Stands 1m tall, 1.5m wide, mass 300 kg including fusion power plant.

Top running speed 100 km/h, can jump up to 80m long or 40m up. P.S. 25.

M.D.C.:

Body 200 Legs (6) 50

Arms (2) 50 Lasers (2) 25

Grenade launcher 50 Utility cluster 25*

* a difficult target, requires a called shot, and drones will often protect themselves by blocking with an arm or leg. The machine's brain is directly behind the sensor cluster, and doing 26+ MD to the cluster will disable the machine.

Jacobite/Style Protector Dragon Power Armour

An oversized suit. The operator's limbs do not fully occupy the suit's limbs, and the operator's head does not occupy the suit head at all. Shaped in a classic western dragon style, complete with back-mounted wings with telescoping fenestrons. It can move rapidly either bipedally or quadrupedally, though it cannot fly. As it turned out, the wings are a remarkably good melee weapon, and have been optimised as such. Despite its fearsome design, it is not very popular because it is so uncomfortable to occupy, especially when running quadrupedally. In addition, the wings are relatively fragile, and will not function properly after only 20 MD of damage. Only its relatively high damage capacity keeps it selling at all.

Dimensions:

Stands 3m tall, mass 400 kg including micro-fusion power plant.

Performance:

Top running speed 30 km/h bipedally or 60 km/h quadrupedally. Can jump up to 30m long or 10m up. Can maintain running speed indefinitely (the operator tires as 1/3 normal rate). P.S. 30.

M.D.C.:

Body 250 Head 90

Arms 120 Legs 150

Wings 50 Plasma rifle 25 (hard to hit, -3)

Armament:

Mouth-mounted plasma rifle. Range 300m, damage D6x10. Ammunition unlimited, +1 strike.

Can bite for 2D6 MD or slash with its reinforced wings for 5D6 MD.

Also has a universal weapon power port at the waist, with a retracting cord for powered any standard energy weapon.

Other equipment

Hot smoke discharger can dispense rust-coloured hot smoke resembling dust (which will defeat normal vision, IR, UV, and thermographic scanners) in a 10m radius. 10 charges.

Combat bonuses:

+2 to parry with wings

Cost:

Only $1M from a licenced dealer in the UAR, owing to its poor sales record.

Jacobite Archon Power Armour

A light power armour, tall and elegant, in a humanoid design with the large, graceful wings of the Dragon design. Not capable of flight, its wings nonetheless telescope out into effective melee weapons, though they can be disabled by only 20 MD of damage. It comes with an energy lance, which is powered by connectors in the palms of the suit's hands, and does not function separately.

Dimensions:

Stands 2.3m tall, mass 250 kg including micro-fusion power plant.

Performance:

Top running speed 75 km/h, can jump up to 50m long or 25m up. Can maintain running speed indefinitely (the operator tires as 1/3 normal rate). P.S. 24.

M.D.C.:

Body 180 Head 70

Arms 80 Legs 100

Wings 50 Lance 50

Armament:

Energy lance can be used as a vibro-spear (3D6 damage) or to hurl ion bolts (range 600m, damage 5D6). If both are used together, damage is D6x10 MD, but the lance also suffers 1D6 MD of damage.

Can slash with its reinforced wings for 5D6 MD.

Cost:

$1.5M from a licenced dealer in the UAR.
