Oscar and Andre have brought the sweet Rosalie to the Jarjayes' mansion to protect her and instruct her on the ways of a refined young lady. Andre dances with Rosalie at a party where she is first introduced to the noble french society. Pretty good dancer, don't you think?
Time continues to pass and Andre continues to advice Oscar to be careful with the actions she takes against Madame Polignac. It might be dangerous!
As they walk down the stairs, Andre notices that the gigant chandelier is about to fall over them. Without a doubt, he jumps over Oscar, thus pushing her to the side and saving her life. They roll down the stairs, but none of them is injured.
Later that night, Oscar is called to Versalles. Andre and Rosalie decide to go with her, but on their way, they are attacked by a group of bandits sent by Madame Polignac. Oscar is injured by one of them, and once again Andre fears for her life. At that precise moment, another carriage arrives. It's von Fersen! He is back!
Oscar lays unconciously on von Fersen's arms. Andre is surprised to see von Fersen back in France after 4 years. Just wait to see Oscar's reaction when she wakes up.
Back at the Jarjayes' Mansion, everyone is worry about Oscar, especially Nanny. "You have no feelings, you should care more about Lady Oscar" Nanny replies as she pinches Andre.
When Oscar wakes up, she can't believe her eyes: her dear Fersen is back.
A week later, Oscar finds out that von Fersen is back simply because he is finishing up the preparations to marry an english woman he doesn't know. Oscar is very upset by this fact, but even more when von Fersen informs Marie Antoinette of his future plans. Oscar's heart is full of sadness: two lovers who can't openly express their burning passion and her own feelings towards von Fersen-- these feelings overwhelm Oscar.
Some time has passed: Marie Antoinette and von Fersen have finally expressed their feelings to one another, and rumors concerning their relationship and their secret meetings continue to increase. Oscar worries about the consequences this may bring not only to the royal family but to von Fersen too.
In the meantime,Andre observes how little by little Oscar has fallen in love with von Fersen, how she suffers for him, but mostly, he understands her feelings because he feels something similar. "There are impossible loves in this world, because the one who loves is afraid to express his feelings and fears to be rejected."Andre suffers in silence: "Oscar, please forget von Fersen, he is no man for you. Stop thinking about him. It hurts me!"
Time continues to pass by, and Oscar is forced to serve as cupid between Marie Antoinette and von Fersen.
The entire situation not only irritates her, but makes her suffer. She has fallen in love with von Fersen, but he ignores her feelings. "For the first time, I feel like I woman."
After delievering Marie Antoinette's message to von Fersen, Oscar leaves, riding her white horse in the middle of a storm, but guess who meets her half-way home? Yeap, Andre.
He brings with him Oscar's cape so that she can cover herself from the rain and avoid catchng a cold. He is always watching after Oscar, even when she seems not to appreciate what he does for her, when she forgets to thank him for his support, and even when she doesn't notice his feelings and his silent suffering.
Rumors in Versailles are reaching the roof-tops. Andre convinces Oscar to attend the ball, even though she wants to avoid encountering von Fersen and the rumors. "It's your duty." He even drives Oscar's carriage to the ball, and at the dance, Oscar dances with Marie Antoinette all night long, avoiding contact with von Fersen..
Later that morning, von Fersen thanks Oscar for what she has done, and informs her that he has joined the american troops and will be leaving France to help fight the United States in their revolutionary war against Great Britain. He feels is the best thing to do, to be away from Marie Antoinette, and thus, asks Oscar to protect her.
