Kei and Miki both work as part-time in Bobson's Icecream. Kei has
been working there for 2 months before Miki starts to join Bobson's.

Kei-kun's first appearence in Marmalade Boy is in episode 28. He walks into the refrigerator of Bobson's Icecream and finds a girl standing on a stool, getting ice-cream from the top shelf. The girl, afraid that her panties is being seen, slips and fall s on top of Kei-kun. | |
Miki finds herself sitting on top of Kei-kun after she falls. She embarassedly gets up and apologizes. They ask each other if they are unhurt. Kei-kun picks up a medallion on the floor after the girl leaves the refrigerator, and wonders if she has dropped it when she fell. | |
Kei is being introduced to Miki the next day (next episode) at Bobson's. Miki is still worried about yesterday's incident and is trying to break the tension by starting to talk. However, Kei seems very unsociable. | |
Miki tries to engage in conversation with Kei, but Kei seems to care less. Kei is being accused by Miki for not looking at her when he's talking to her. They stare at each other sternly for some seconds, when finally, Kei can't hold it anymore and bursts out laughing. He thinks Miki is funny because she is still concerned about what happened yesterday. | |
In episode 33, Kei sees Miki at the back of Bobson's where Miki is throwing away some trash. Kei embraces Miki and tells her that he loves her. Miki is too shocked to react for a few seconds before she pushes him away screaming. Kei runs embarassedly back into Bobson's.

Episode 35 - this is probably Kei's worst episode. Kei sees that Yuu has come to look for Miki, who has already left. He goes outside and calls out Yuu's name. He shows Yuu Miki's medallion and says that Miki doesn't want it anymore. Kei is trying to shake Miki & Yuu's relationship. | |
Kei's last appearance at Bobson's is in episode 44. He quitted his job and has decided to return home, go back to music school and his piano lessons. He tells Miki that in order for him to be treated equally as her, he will work on it. He says that when he has become a man that Miki would want, he will return to confess his love. | |
