Beneath the sunny facade is a character
more complex than you would ever know...
Aino
Minako
A simple girl at heart, Aino Minako is a carefree girl studying
in Shibakouen Junior High School. She's accompanied by her silly
guardian cat, Artemis. Minako-chan, as her friends would then
call her, is a very funny and inspirational character who makes
us all laugh, smile and cry at the innocence of her laughter
and the beauty of her smile.
How
much do we really know her, other than the usual impressions
of her being the ditzy blonde girl?

Minako-chan
loves volleyball, playing in the arcade and loves to chase,
umm... idols ^_^ Her playing volleyball is a good way to release
tensions and also a way to improve on her agility and accuracy,
traits that complemented her moves as Sailorvenus. She used to
play volleyball so much that she even became famous for her fancy
moves. Her flying somersault reception was well remembered by
Asai-kun.
She was
also good in playing at the arcade as she spent a lot
of time there (a good place for her to spend more time with
onii-chan, Furuhata Motoki ^_^). (She met Haruka at the arcade
too. ^_^) Her playing in the arcade was also a good way for
her to release her tensions and problems.
|
Chasing
idols has always been a part of her which, I think, would
never be taken away. ^_^ She has had a lot of idols even when
she was still known to be SailorV and
Kaitou Ace was one of them too! Minako-chan
had so many crushes that she doesn't even remember all of them.
Her love
for her idols brings us to her dreams to become one.
Minako-chan always dreamed of becoming an idol herself
one day that she went to a lot of auditions way back even
then when she was SailorV.

Other
than her playing volleyball, playing the arcade and chasing
idols, Minako is also very good in Eigo (English).
As one episode in SMS when they met this old gentleman (who
spoke good American and Japanese), Minako-chan responded to
him saying, "Nice to meet you!" ^_- Usagi-chan also
asked Minako-chan to teach her English to which she responded,
"Why?" also in a nice accent for a Japanese citizen.
She
is very good in speaking Eigo for she was in England
when she was SailorV.

Besides
her hobbies and the things that she likes to do, there are also
things and/or people who she isn't quite familiar with,
they are none other than the police and her mom (who
is better known to her as a screaming hag.)
Before, in Code
Name wa: SailorV, she fought against the Dark Agency who uses
crimes against the people. Her fame seemed to be a threat
against the police who then considers her to also be an enemy
(unknown to them that their superintendent-chief, Sakurada Natsuna,
is an avid fan of V-chan) for SailorV makes them look bad.
It then seems that besides V-chan's enemies, the police too
are after her.
|
Minako-chan
also envies Rei-chan for the fact that she doesn't have a
mom, a screaming hag around the house. Minako doesn't
like being told and bossed around and, well, that is the reason
why she isn't familiar with her mom. (Her mom looks a lot
like Usagi's mom although nosier and gets angry a lot too!
^^;;)
Just as
much as she doesn't like her mom, my cousins have also noted
that Minako-chan in the manga
isn't also familiar with little children as she remarked
when Chibichibi appeared, "What? Another brat?"
(She must mean Chibi-Usa to be the other brat.) Minako-chan
also got irritated at very kawaii Chibichibi's retorts for
she just imitated every word Minako-chan made. ^^;; Although
in the anime, Minako and Chibi-Usa got along real fine.

The
Beauty of Aino Minako
Many have claimed that Minako-chan is not beautiful physically,
just how can they not see those expressive eyes full of innocence?
How can they not see that elegant smile and that wondrous
flow of golden mane? Minako-chan possesses a cheerful charm
that draws many people into her alluring smile. Her smile
brightens up a person's day and her sadness can send tears
rolling down people's cheeks.
She is
somebody who we cannot ever forget for she will always stay
alive in our hearts even as we move on.
