This picture was taken last year at Dominican Republic. As you can see in the picture, the kids love to get a chance to use the microphone(Well, I didn't give them the chance in this one...but they were waiting around me to see if I would..) First time I was at this church, I had hard time singing and dancing because they were all around me trying to get a chance to use the microphone. But aren't they cute?
Well, this is the picture that Michael thinks I shouldn't show to anybody...especially guys. He thinks I look so messy that I will never be able to find a guy to marry :) oh well, here goes my chance of getting married...(like I care =P)
This is the first church we went in Dominica. Everybody is busy doing their craft activity to pay attention to camera. Actually, the kids love having their picture taken...but the markers had better attraction to kids that day :) I'm somewhere in the picture...
Another picture of me singing with kids. Do you know that they could sing some simple Korean songs better than some second generation Korean kids? When I heard them sing Korean for first time, I was so surprised....they are so used to Korean mission team that they knew what I was going to sing by listening to the first word...just amazing~
Another purpose of our mission trip was to build houses for people in Dominican Republic. We were just visiting one of the houses that were suppose to be fixed. Before that day, I've seen the pictures of how they lived and stuff but it never occurred to me how it really was till I saw it that day. The house was so tiny(probably a little bit bigger than my room) and it was made of all sorts of materials. The roof of the house was made with banana leafs and they told me that it leaks and gets blown away during the hurricane season. No washroom and just one room where 4 people sleep together. *sigh* I guess what really touched me was their willingness to share even when they had nothing. The mother kept giving us the bag of avocado as a gift and I felt so bad that I couldn't do anything more for this family. I really learned the lesson of giving from that family.
