How do I Love Thee: My favourite love poem. I love the line "I shall but love thee better after death"
What is Life About?: Received this story from Tommy oppa in ck. Maybe this story might inspire you to live a better life...
Indian Prayer: Gentle reminder to people who recently lost their loved ones.
A Song of Living: Carpe Diem!! I wish I could proudly recite this poem when I die.
Solitudes: Reality is harsh. Sooner you face it, better it is. However, that doesn't mean we just accept it the way it is. We always have to strive to make things better. Watch the movie "Life is Beautiful" Perfect example of knowing that life could be so cruel but making best out of the hopeless situation.
Don't Quit: Little poem that I read whenever I get discouraged.
I want to be six again: You know when we are young, we couldn't wait to get older...but now that we are older, I realize that life might have been better when I was six....
Chain of Love: Once you start the chain of love, it will spread and touch everybody's life....
Church bloopers: funny stories from church life.
The following poems are some of my favortie Korean poems. I copied this translated version from a book called "Korea's Best Loved Poems". Even though the translation is pretty good, I still believe the beauty and meaning of the poems are somewhat lost in English version. Still, hope you read them and cherish them like I do.
Some Day : Written by So-Wol Kim. To tell you the truth, I don't really understand it...but this one is one of the well loved poem in Korea
Longing : If you have a crush on someone, you would know what this poem is talking about...
My Mind : Another poem of unreturned love. The author wrote "I'll leave you, lonely as a wanderer" Is this true love? or is this just coward way out? I think if it was me, I would fight for the love instead of just letting it go...
I Do Not Know: Written by Yong-Woon Han. He's my favorite poet~ I think I like all of his poems :)
Azalea Flowers: Another one by So-Wol Kim. They say ultimate love is letting someone go. Do I agree with that? not really....don't think I learned enough about love to understand the meaning yet.
Self Portrait: describes the inner conflict we face all the time...
Obedience: Another one by Yong-Woon Han. So true to Christians all over. Once we give our life to Jesus, we can't serve the other. We try but that's not true obedience. I'm sure Yong-Woon Han didn't write this poem with Christianity in mind since he was a monk. He wrote this when Korea was ruled under Japanese government. Obviously he's talking about his loyalty to Korea instead to a new government.
Counting Stars: Written by Dong-Ju Yun. "Self-Portrait", "Prelude" and this poem are his representative work.
The Ferry Boat and the Passenger: For some reason, I find this poem so sad. The line "You go away without looking back. But I know you will come back some day. So I grow old, waiting for you day and night." just makes me want to cry...
Prelude: I love "let me have no shame under the heaven until I die" :) One of the most quoted poem in Korea.
Love's Silence: Wonderful love poem. If you are not going to read any poem in this page, just read this one. You won't regret it~
Rock : don't know why...but I like this one :)
