In the meeting, the dead silence with which the Queen was presented made her aware that she was the sole utmost enemy of the public. During the debate, the delegates were immediately in an argument, and were like that in the following days. The crown prince had to be put back to the palace he was before because his health grew worse. Marie took the time to visit him, but there was nothing that could be done. The Bell of Notre Dame was tolled in prayer for the Crown Prince’s health. Many people gave prayers and Oscar shed tears, and hoped that God would not take the life of this innocent young prince away. He died on June 4th at 1 a.m. His death was mounred deeply by Marie and Oscar, but because Marie has wasted all the money, there were no spare money for the Prince's Funeral. Since the nobles were not happy with the dalegates of the commoners, they forced the king to give an order to lock the delagates out. Oscar and her guards had to take the order with anger and grief. However, keeping the delagates out of the Estate-General did not do much, so Bouille gave out an order to use the French Royal Guards to force the people to disassemble the Estate-General. Oscar was angry and refused to take the order, and was thus kept under watch for obeying orders. Oscar's 12 men including Alain also refused in obeying and were put into prison to be excuted. When Oscar became aware of the situation, she escaped by force and arrived before the French Royal Guards to stop them. Their leader, Gerodere, after hearing Oscar's angry speach on how the Army should be protecting people and not killing them, and that if they were insited in doing so, they should let her blood stain the Assembly, Gerodere ordered the army to go back. At Jarjeye's estate, Oscar's father was indignant was about to kill Oscar for treason, but was stopped by Andre, and threatened Jarjeye to let go off Oscar,or else he would kill him and runaway with Lady Oscar! Hearing this, Jarjeye gave in, and told Oscar that the Queen has spared any punishments for her. Oscar, relieved at the Queen's mercy, and was moved by Andre's action, revealed to Andre that she loved him as well. Even though she was spared, she still remembered that her 12 men's lives were still in danger. Thus, she paied a visity to Bernard to ask him to help her get Alain and the rest of the soldiers out of the prison. And the action was succuessful. All 12 men came back with no injuries.
