Myself and Rob spent one lovely month travelling around Spain and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. From the beautiful Tossa de Mar on the Costa Daruda with it's medieval city walls and ruins, the sleepy city of Tortosa to the Roman capital of Tarragona we saw a great variety of historical sights. In Valencia we experienced some Spanish modern architecture as well as a great mixture of older styles in the city centre, while in Malaga and Sevilla we saw the distinctly Muslim influences on the country. Then it was on to Madrid and Barcelona where we experienced amazing art works in the museums amongst may other things!

Of course our trip wasn't all historical and cultural sightseeing, we had a great time wandering around the markets and of course enjoying the amazing Spanish cuisine on offer to us. We sampled so many delicious foods, and the stuff available at the markets was just amazing, we'd often just buy a load of fruit and veges for our breakfast or fresh bread or prawns or whatever! I think our favourite dish was "musclos a la marinera" in the Catalunya region which is a pot of boiled mussels in a rich, garlicy tomato sauce (or variations there of) which we stuffed ourselves on on many occasions.

Apart from food there was drink :) Our first sangria was in Tossa de Mar and was made blood thick with red wine... absolutely delicious and incredibly potent! But! Not as potenet as the sangria we were made in Barcelona at a small bar/restaurant one afternoon which was mixed up with about 5 different spirits freely poured and a little bit of juice and wine and sugar to mix it up. The Spanish method of pouring spirits got us into troubel on a few occasions as when you order a spirit they just pour until they feel like stopping.... not that I'm complaining!

Well that is a very general overview of the trip but if you want to read about each place in detail, click on the links to your destination and enjoy! I have heaps of photos , but at the moment none of them are online but I'm going to try and do something about that soon.
