Founded in 1970 it constitutes the basic core of the association. It is made of about forty chorists and has performed more than three hundred concerts, taking also part in important musical festivals (“Settembre Musica” in Turin, Aosta, Loreto ) and competitions ( Arezzo, Gorizia, Vittorio Veneto, Palazzo Pignano, Arnhem in Holland) with excellent results. The choir has been invited on many tournées in Greece, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, Tcheka Republic, Hungary and France. The repertory is extremely various ( antique, modern, sacred and profane music), even if large part of the activity is devoted to the study of Renaissance and Baroque poliphony. Among the most important performances we must remember
“Johannes Passio” by J.S. Bach Since 1995 the choir in its wider
formation under the name of Coro Filarmonico R. Maghini has worked with
the R.A.I. National Orchestra. In 1990 the choir issued the CD “Sacred
Poliphony in Italian Baroque” (psalms and mottettos by Antonio Lotti,
Alessandro e Domenico Scarlatti );
Presently, inside the Corale Polifonica we can distinguish a Schola Gregoriana, a Madrigalistic Group and a mixed choir performing the vocal music of the Middle Ages. |
