It's a vocal-instrumental group born thanks to the meeting of experienced singers and players especially interested in antique music. The group derives its name from the collection “Affetti Musicali” by Biagio Marini (1617) and tends to revaluate the charming mixture of voices and instruments typical of the Italian music of the beginning of Baroque. They have performed numerous scores by Monteverdi, such as the “Ballo delle Ingrate”, “Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda”, psalms from the “Selva Morale e Spirituale” and have also taken part in many festivals of antique music; among them “Music Sacré” in Avignon and “ Festival dei Saraceni”. The members of the group vary according to the requirements of the repertory. At the moment they are working on a CD which contains unpublished Piedmontese music of the XVII century. |
