Air Stones

All the stones mentioned here are in my collection.  Most of this information is material I've found on the web.  As I can limber up my typing fingers I'll replace it with my own notes from my book of shadows.(denoted by italic boldface type)

APITITE (blue)This mineral opens the throat chakra, reduces tension and will also reduce stuttering. In addition, it improves expression. (Acts on the 5th chakra.)

AVENTURINE (green quartz) helps to strengthen the wearer's physical body by infusing organs with its color and raising their vibratory rate. It works in cycles from the weakest organ to the strongest and helps the body to release and metabolize disharmony.

CALCITE (yellow) works mainly with digestive and eliminative organs, such as the kidneys, pancreas, and spleen. It tends to detoxify the body by absorbing physical disharmony. It helps to balance calcium levels in the body as well as to balance the emotions.

CELESTITE tunes consciousness to the higher planes. It improves mental powers and communication. Commonly the crystals are white and more rarely, blue crystals are found. (Acts on th 5th toward the 7th chakras.)

CITRINE (yellow quartz) attracts the yellow ray. Although it can highlight disharmonies in the physical body and help one to recognize emotional extremes its most important task is to assist with the opening of one's spiritual eyes and ears. When worn over time citrine aids one to hear the inner music and open more fully to the joys of spirit. This stone is often more effective in chip form.

CHRYSOPRASE enlivens insight for resolution of personal problems, increases selflessness and love in actions. Its' crisp-looking green has a high octave. (Works on the 4th and 5th chakras.)

HAWK'S EYE (Falcon's Eye): When one can see with the depth and clarity of a hawk, one is privy to much information about the world, the scene around them. It is an awesome responsibility to see with such incision (direct and decisive sight) withour being overcome with empathy. This is the level of brotherly love putting itself on the warrior's path to truth, dignity and honesty. If one is willing to see everything and still love and forgive, then one has made a magnificent step into the Christ consciousness. From the hawk's point of view, life without this deep vision is a life of poverty and dependence. The truest way for the hawk to express his divinity is through the unflinching, powerful gaze. The next most magnetic bird sight is the owl. The owl expresses ageless wisdom, a certain air of sage grace. The hawk is all fiery intuitive knowing which activates the warrior spirit into action when needed. Only people with the hawk totem should wear the hawk's eye, but at one time or another all are called to make the visionary transition into the Christ consciousness. This can be facilitated by meditation with this stone. (Acts on the 6th chakra.)

KYANITE is an elevator, raising vibrations to an openness not accustomed to the user. It does not relate directly to alleviating depression and depressive state symptoms, but it provides a higher level of awareness where the personality may look out and see the "light of day". This ability to rise above one's self-imposed vision of the world provides for the user a roadmap, an idea of what is available should the customary mindset be put aside for a moment. For those already attuned to an optimistic frame of mind, it provides a lateral or horizontal widening out which gives breadth to vision, allowing the user to incorporate new areas of thought into the mental framework thereby enlarging the scope of the individual's positive influence. In the aged, it provides a remembrance of youthful zeal and innocent idealism thereby refurbishing familiar patterns of positive intent and reducing the pull toward de-energized thinking which allows the onset of the death spiral. It is best kept wrapped lightly in cheesecloth or cotton rather than risk fragmenting the delicate structure through handling. (Acts on the 6th chakra.)

LARIMAR: Incandescent. This mineral is good for curing the common cold, coryza. Of the blue ray, Larimar captures the essence of the blue flame, the point where the flame burns hottest. Larimar provides internal fire of the proper stage for expression, allowing all residuals of toxins to be emitted safely and healthfully. Larimar works well in conjunction with herbs, especially fireweed and coltsfoot. Larimar promotes the externalization of internal beauty and intensity. (Acts on the 5th chakra.)

POPPY JASPER (brecciated) supports a positive attitude. It provides extra energy and inspiration to get things done. It can help break up physical patterns that are preventing the free movement of energy.

OPAL Harmony is the accent on the emotional, mental and psychic level. In its red / orange (fire), black, jelly blue and white / yellow forms, its impact is accented for different body areas, acting as a tonic and regenerator. Opal is known to emphasize the prevalent tendency of a person, positive or negative. (Acts primarily on the 4th chakra.)

SAPPHIRE (blue) is a precious stone whose mission is to carry the blue ray. For humans it also serves to help nourish and order the mind, and assist the wearer to think more clearly and discriminately. Sapphire should be worn near the throat since that is the chakra that most easily accepts the blue ray. It can work on the physical brain as well as the mental body.

SERPENTINE (new jade) helps to open the crown chakra, detoxify internal organs, and balance glucose levels in the body.
