Jan. 1, 2008 Should I Stay or Should I Go?
So, should I keep this up? I guess I owe it to the 35 of you!
Update 4/6/08 in case you haven't heard, their next album, its first set of new material since 2002's "X," titled "Songs From the Sparkle Lounge," will be released next month! Joe said it runs the gamut from "classic Def Leppard" to "new wave-type sounding stuff," He told Billboard.com: "There's definitely some moments on it where anybody that's familiar with our music will go, 'Whoa! I wasn't expecting that!' We've just been very adventurous, musically, on certain numbers." The album title refers to a room the group maintained backstage during its 2006 tour dates, where the musicians would work on ideas. "We've never, ever written on the road before, so this definitely came from a different head space," Elliott said. He said Def Leppard finished 11 songs during month-long stints in January and April in Dublin. He expected the group to work on at least two more songs before settling on a final track list and release date. Def Leppard's most recent release was the 2006 covers collection "Yeah!" It promoted the set on a co-headlining tour with Journey. But Elliott said the group won't preview any of the new songs on the road this summer, where it's touring mostly with Styx and Foreigner. "Nowadays, you play one song and it's gonna be on YouTube two minutes later and everyone will know it six months before the thing comes out," Elliott said. "That's just a sad indictment of the way things are." Reuters/Billboard
Check the Official website for new 2008 Tour Dates, and actual pictures of the guys working on the new album! I would put you a link here, but since they quit offering a link to my page I'm kinda miffed at them, so you'll have to go to the bottom of my page to my "links" section (which they no longer have).

You can't say this band doesn't love their fans!
I saw them October 2006 at the Ford Center.

For being a TOURING ROCK BAND!!!! What a fantastic show!
Now they are regrouping (as it were) and are getting ready to start work on a new album! I hope it ROCKS, 'cause whether they like it or not they ROCK the best of all!!!
WOO-HOO!!!
Okay, just in case you've been here before, I did not have the same problem at this concert as before. I've learned to go to the potty right before they take the stage! Click here for an update about the June 10 2005 concert I saw in Oklahoma City! (p.s. other women have confessed on my guestbook that it happened to them too!)
Def Leppard 2002!
The day I recieved the Ultimate Fan Award from Def Leppard!
Thanks Beck! This made me laugh my ass off!
From the files of "People keep undestimating this Band and their LEGEND status" :
Joe went on an Irish radio program dedicated to Metal music October 1, 2004. The official site had the streaming audio until Monday October 4, 2004. In it Joe mentions another cd they hope to release in April 2005 of covers! Then they hope to TOUR to support both CD's!!! (The cd in question is YEAH!)
I listened and enjoyed all 1 1/2 hours of the show even though it wasn't all about Def Leppard. :-) Just listening to Joe in conversation about music is utter fascinating to me, and I found it interesting that the other guests didn't seem to grasp that they were talking with a ROCK LEGEND(Joe!). They were discussing rock legends and the stories they had heard about them, like about Ozzy, and then they would finally getting around to asking Joe if he had heard any of these stories and he'd say, "Yeah, well, we TOURED with him in..." or about AC/DC "Yeah, we OPENED for them at..." and would set them straight. For instance, he knew the accurate story of Judas Priest being sued for lyric content, and his anecdotes were hilarious! I loved it!
About the cover CD: I was hoping they would include "BANG A GONG"
Found out they thought it had already been done enough. (boo)
My Thoughts On X
This CD grows on you more each time you hear it. I found out that if I didn't tell people it was Def Leppard they really liked it, but if I told them first then they were slower warming up to it. My opinion? Mostly Def Leppard Lite (think GooGoo Dolls, Matchbox 20), but it does have some rock. Not eardrum chaos or morose wailing like most of today's "rock", but real pumping through your body ROCK.
I love Def Leppard. My site is mainly me gushing on and on about them and their 1996 CD "Slang", critically acclaimed but ignored by most radio stations. Joe Elliott (lead vocals) said on VH1's "Behind the Music" (Thanks VH1!) that the band was wondering (with Slang) if their fans would allow them to do a 180 degree turn (a'la Led Zepplin). I guess most of them didn't. Slang is a magnificent piece of soul-searching Rock n'Roll. The guitars in this album will literally tug and caress your soul if you'll grow still and allow it. The words are the most compelling lyric I've heard from ANY band. This is a free-thinking group of men, and "Slang" reflects that. They are my drug, they supply the music that I need to cope and be happy.
Slang is a balm to my soul...

My reason for a webpage was my Slang interpretation:
Joe Elliott recently did an interview in which he had quite a lot to say about Slang...read it here:
Joe's thoughts on Slang.
Phil Collen also was asked about Slang: Phil's thoughts on Slang.
Thanks to the Def Leppard Archive for these interviews (link at bottom of page).

Read what I think about them.
The cable channel that loves the Leps like I do:
VH1's Def Leppard Obsession.
I need to update it like crazy, though. VH1 had Def Leppard on two separate specials this year, not to mention the Rock lists they've had "Most Metal Moments", "Greatest Hard Rock Bands", and etc. And every once in a while they broadcast their production of "Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story". That was so good! You can buy the DVD on VH1.com

Please don't hassle me. I'm not making money on this. At all. It is intended to be beneficial to the rock band that rules my planet. It's just the rock and roll clown they turn me into.
