So much for good intentions...January 20, 1998I meant to get some things accomplished today. Even though I knew Mom wanted to go visit her aunt on her father's side. I like Aunt Mabel... she may be in her 80s, but she's funny. She lives in a very small town, population 91 and I wonder sometimes if that includes all the dogs running around. We had a nice visit with her, and then her daughter Doris came home from work, and we went over to her place and visited for a while, then headed home around 4:30 and got home 'round 5:45. Once I got the cats fed and myself settled in, I hopped online. I didn't see Jevim on, but I dropped him an ICQ message and he hopped on IRC. When I told him I was kinda watching Babylon 5, he asked if I minded if he went out to the lounge to watch, and so we each hopped off to our respective televisions, and I did get a bit of his afghan done. When I got back, I checked my e-mail box, and this is what I found: Thanks, Elle! I wonder who nominated me for that award... there was no mention and the site seemed quite new. She also uses Moyra's Web Jewels, so I'm wondering if perhaps Moyra herself did it. Maybe I should check my guestbook? ... Nope, no mention of it. Anyway, thank you to whoever nominated me, I'm very honored that someone considered me worthy of the award. Jevim and I started a backgammon match after B5, but he had other people messaging him and chatting with him on ICQ, and I hadn't had dinner yet, so we wound up in a 3-way chat with one of his friends, I made dinner, and he told another friend he would help him with computer networking setup tomorrow afternoon or evening. The guy is loaning him a couple books he needs for classes, so it's not like he was taking advantage of Jevim. We did get a couple games played later... I gammoned him once, then he beat me in the next, but then he was ready to hop offline and get ready for bed. His roomie was gone and he wanted me to call him; I did, and of course his roomie showed up not 2 minutes later, so we didn't talk much. He was saying he missed me, and I could tell by the sound of his voice that he really wanted to be able to talk for a while, but he didn't want to with company around. *sigh* We said our goodbyes, and he went off to read, and I hopped back online, as Connie had shown up just before Jevim hopped off. I had meant to get some homework done after he went offline, but it doesn't look like I'm going to succeed, since it's already quarter to eleven. I do want to get these pages uploaded though, as I've got four now that I haven't posted, I think.
