Gooood morning! Yep, I'm back, and hopefully a little more regularly now than I have been the last week or two. Jev's good at distracting me from my journal, and apparently I'm good at distracting him from his, as well. We're sitting side by side, typing our entries, and I'm trying to get used to this darn keyboard. Sticky spacebars are fun becauseitmeansyoutypelikethisalot.
Oh, and the computer's a little slower than I"m used to, too... a 486 DX-2 66 MHz. Hmm, not as slow as I thought, but it just feeeels slow. Maybe it's just the keyboard.
Anyway.... we celebrated a quiet New Year's last night, curled up together in bed and watching Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve special. We think we've figured out why he never ages... they keep him in cryogenic freeze, and only bring him out about 3 days a year. *chuckle* We watched the old ball drop for the last time, and stayed tuned for a bit of the celebration afterward, then snuggled up together and went to sleep. Boring? Well, you may think so. I thought it was rather nice, since it was the first New Year we've spent together.
Even if there was something to do in this sleepy little town, we wouldn't have gone out last night... we're kind of snowed in. No blizzard or anything, but Sam's parents live at the edge of town, and on a hill, and getting out of here in a car would be ... interesting, to say the least. But we have each other to keep us company, and at least speaking for myself, I'm not really feeling the effects of cabin fever.
My visit is going really well, I think. Except for the one day that first week when Jev's mom and sister kept bugging him, the stress level really hasn't been bad; that was something I was rather concerned about, after feeling so stressed when we were here last Thanksgiving. I think I can handle a couple more weeks of this. Jev's grade report came in a couple days ago, and even though he didn't do so hot in one of his classes, his parents seemed satisfied enough that he had passed everything he took. I think he was a little worried about that.
I'm going to go back and type up my entry from a few days ago, because I can't remember what I've told you and what I haven't. Be back in a bit....
