The new year is off to a good start, I think. I didn't really make any official resolutions, but there are a couple things I'd like to try to do this year... like keep my journal up on a more regular basis, and finishing more needlework projects than I start.
I'm two for two on the journal so far, and I'm very proud of myself on the needlework count, as well. Jev and I did manage to get out yesterday (it wasn't near as difficult as I expected), and I saw some plastic canvas cross stitch snowmen on their Christmas Clearance rack, so I bought 'em. I haven't even opened the package yet, and it's been more than twenty-four hours since I found them. Oh, and I managed to get five hours of stitching done on my North Wind cross stitch today, much to my surprise.
Oops, Jev's back, and teasing me about us getting out yesterday.... "What'd you expect? We'd have to get a couple mules to get the car out of the valley?" Well, not that bad, but I did expect a little slip-sliding around, which didn't happen. Now Jev says he's sure he could have spun the wheels on the ice in Wal-Mart's parking lot, but I assured him that wasn't necessary. My mom has a Cougar, which I think of as a big car, after all the little ones we've had over the years, but that thing slips and slides around like you wouldn't believe.
Enough of that, though... we were supposed to get this huge snowstorm here, yesterday or today, but it's been quite nice, though cold and getting colder. I noticed that St. Louis didn't get as much snow dumped on them as forecasted, so I hope my mom didn't get much where we live, either. I called her yesterday afternoon, and she said they were just having light snow showers, so maybe they got lucky.
Jev and I are playing another game of Multiplayer Civilization II... he beat me in the last one, and I suspect he'll beat me again, but we're having fun playing, and it gives us something to do besides play with the dog and do needlework. If the weather is nice tomorrow, I'm thinking maybe we can get out and see another movie. There are one or two playing here in town that I wouldn't mind seeing. We shall see...
For now, I'd best get back to running my country, California, before Jev and his Hokies take over the world!
