Lisana's Life

I don't have the energy I had yesterday. I was hyper at times, from caffeine and sugar, but mostly I'm just tired. I think that was because of all the running around we did this morning... wally world, the other grocery mart, the bank, the Hallmark, the dollar store, and so on.

Found a few little things that made me smile... a cross stitch of a cat curled up in a chair, with a little saying about home is where the cat is... it's by Designs for the Needle, and made specifically for the dollar store, so that was a surprise. I snatched that up without a second thought, because I liked the colors and the fact that there was a little metallic floss included for some of the backstitching... a nice touch, I thought.

Oh, I forgot the fun at the bank... I wrote out a withdrawal slip so I could pay my bills and have a little spending cash again, and Mom wrote a deposit slip for $100 less, so she would have a little spending cash, too (she writes the checks for my bills, so I just give the money to her)... well, the drive in teller gave us back a deposit receipt for what Mom had wanted deposited, and $119.50 in cash. Uhhhmmm, just a second here.

The girl would not listen, when we tried to explain that we gave her the withrawal slip, and the deposit slip for $100 less, and just kept saying, "that's right," when we were confused over having $19.50 extra. The other teller came over and saw what was going on, and we gave back the $19.50, and the teller gave us back the check Mom had written to the newspaper, to renew her subscription. Somehow it had gotten stuck to Mom's deposit slip. The first teller hadn't even looked at who the check was made out to, just cancelled it and gave us the cash. So Mom had to tear up the check, and she ended up renewing her newspaper sub with cash, which kind of defeated the purpose. What fun...

I think I'll try to avoid that particular teller from now on; Mom withdrew rent money from my account while I was gone, and that was the teller she had, and for some reason after that, there was a $1.00 service charge on my last bank statement, for a debit fee. I don't have a debit card, so I don't know what the heck the girl did. Okay, I'll quit ranting about the bank.... I had a good day, despite the little wrinkle.

At Wally World, I found a fizzy bath ball, something akin to the Fizzy Navel Mom bought me back around Halloween... I grabbed it, thinking I'd save it for a day when I really needed to de-stress. I picked up a couple other things in the health and beauty aisles, hit the electronics section where I didn't find a thing (!!!), the craft section, where I had as much luck, then magazines. I scored two new stitching issues, then went to look at their journals and diaries, but I couldn't find anything there I liked, for a gratitude journal. I'm just picky... Actually I thought I could probably find something I liked better at Hallmark, and I had a $1 certificate there.

We had lunch at the fish place, then hit Hallmark on the way home, but all their journals were either not my style at all, too cutesy and childish, or just too darned expensive. Guess I'll have to find somewhere else to look... where's a Barnes & Noble when I need one?

By time I got home, I'd developed a winner of a headache, so I've taken it easy most of the rest of the day, reading, cleaning off my desktop, playing some more Railroad Tycoon, and now talking with Jev. I'm about ready to call it a night, so I'll wrap this up for now.
