A letter written by my then 82 year old great great grandmother to her grandchildren in March 1918, telling them the story of her life. It includes the story of how she settled in South Africa in the nineteenth century, just after the Anglo-Zulu war. A very powerful People's History.

I've pruned the list considerably, so it is a little 'thin' at the moment. But watch this space - I'll be adding links to worthwhile sites soon.Take a look at Madam & Eve, my all-time favourite comic strip (but be warned...it is a social commentary on the South Africa situation, so non-South Africans might not always "get" it). Madam & Eve play an important part in my ongoing current affairs awareness - I still look to the Madam & Eve books to understand what was going on in South Africa during the two years I was away!
