Previous pregnancy problems/complications: I've only been trying
seriously for 7 months or so,
but I have received a couple of spurious "eyeball"
diagnoses from gynecologists. Actually, I'm really angry about
the lack of competent care, and if anyone knows of a good,
fat-friendly gynecologist or family practitioner in the North
Georgia/Atlanta area, I'd appreciate a recommendation.

Pg problems/complications: unexplained stillbirth
Conceived: We used "artificial" (alternative)
insemination performed by an MD for approximately 18 months, then
tried it twice on our own. We were successful the second try.
Beth had an exploratory lap, and though a cyst was removed, there
were no impediments to pregnancy. We used Serophene for a couple
of months without success, then progesterone suppositories prior
to
conception. We had quit using them both when Emily was conceived,
though Beth received weekly progesterone injections the first 12
weeks of the pregnancy.

Are you using an OB/midwife/doula or combination?: We used an OB
with Emily and will use him again. We were thrilled with his
support through our loss of Emily, he is an advocate of
herbal/natural remedies, his approach to childbirth is as natural
as possible, and his plans for future pregnancies match our
expectations. Since we don't know
what caused Emily's death, we will be supercautious and deliver
in a hospital, though the idea of a midwife or doula and
homebirth is wonderful. Our dr provides the best of both worlds,
in a way. It suits us.
