caging a sorrow
meant to be free
her pain and her suff'ring
are all that we see
filling with drugs
to alter her mind
searching for answers
yet nothing we find
Binding the hopeless
her heart, we destroy
killing a sadness
by taking her joy
this glorious child
full of those dreams
belittled to darkness
her eyes only scream
pools of her wonder
cascading with fear
alone in this madness
we're trapping her here
Death in the wild
yet hell in the tame
by taking her sadness
we've taken her name
Orphan to all
with no one to guide
lost in her potions
depression's sweet bride
10/13/98 Tomb of Our Gods
flwoing through this life of ours
a river of these lies
words and puzzles float around
as our princess dies
on wooden stakes, we hang out martyr
a symbol, now, to all
burning hope with your scripture
the human race shall fall
the darkened sun, soon will sink
into this sorrowed night
with frigid hands, soon we shall
make our noose too tight
the child dies in our darkness
this time of hate does reign
we cover up our bloody past
but cannot conceal the stains
shadow prints of infant fingers
portraying all we hide
searching for our saviors
yet all our gods have died.
October 1998 Remember?
words, they remember
every heart and soul
scars, they betray
and make us seem unwhole
regrets, to control us
feeding on the pain
guilt, here to train you
yet innocence does reign
chaos to destroy us
as we lay alone
death, there to take us
encasing all with stone
love to remind us
that hope still remains
but loss here to fill us
with immortal pain
