'The
End of the Quest"
Sir Frank Dicksee (1853-1928) came from an artistic family.
His
father and a number of other relatives were artists.
He
exhibited his first picture at the Royal Academy
School
(where he was a student) in London in 1875.
He
became reknowned as an artist who painted lavishly
costumed
historical, allegorical and biblical figures. This
style
won him great success and fame. His 'Romeo and Juliet'
would
have to rank among the most ardent lovers I have
ever
seen, don't they just ooooze passion?
